He means that you are right on the edge between two skill tiers for skill-based matchmaking If you get put in the higher of the two tiers, then you are matched against people who are better than you and you do badly. When you get matched against people in the lower tier you do well. After a while you will adapt more to the higher of the two tiers and move up to that level all the time It's happened to me before

If that's the reason there is a HUGE GAP between those 2 tiers! Have you read the kd difference?

It seems like there is a huge gap in skill, but it's not really that big. You go from games where everyone on the other team is worse than you to games where everyone is better than you When I was switching between skill levels I could go on a major rampage in one match (one time I got a kd > 5) and then get moved up into a higher tier. I would then get slaughtered and have a few matches with kd < 0.5 My performance against the better teams gradually improved and my kd got better in those matches and I stopped being matched with the easier players If you have any quests that require crucible kills, my advice is to get them done now in the easier matches and just accept the beatings and learn what you are doing wrong

from 0.23kd to > 5kd it IS a huge gap...it's 21 times better/harder!!! that should not happen in my opinion.

Actually, your post said > 3 some matches. Down to 0.23 in others My experience was > 5 in some matches. 0.5 in others Notice about 10 times difference in both cases. It does not mean 10 times harder. Going from everyone being slightly worse than you to everyone being slightly better than you could have a huge impact on your kd Basically, you can listen to people who have been through this who are trying to help you or you can argue with them and they stop helping. It's your choice, but don't expect people to waste their time helping you in the future

You're making your point. I'm making mine. You've given me an explanation of why this could be happening...I appreciate that even though it doesn't really change anything and in any case even 10 times more is too big in my opinion. I don't understand why you get upset
