Don't let the people in this game get you down, I'm personally at 300+ exotic boots and well over 1000+ legendary boot engrams. What most people don't realize is that at one point there was a major bug with these boots. If you infused them into regular boots the exotic perk transfered and bungie scrambled and immediately stealth nerfed the drop rate as a stop gap until it was fixed. My theory is that they never reversed said drop rate decrease. People can say all they want oh i got it to drop or it's bad RNG but honestly they're either lying or hit the lottery. You gotta remember that even the most "hardcore" players aren't really that good. Keep fighting the fight man, and hopefully one day bungie will actually fix a real issue and not worry about trivial stuff....like what the sheep will QQ about next in PvP.

  • Yeah, I haven't really tried to get them anymore since I made this post. I gave up. Other than them fixing the drop-rate, my only hope now is that Xur sells them again. This is the only way that most people have gotten them. Of course Xur still hasn't sold these again since. He sold them the first week of RoI. At that time, I decided that I would wait until they dropped for me. I figured that I would be seeing them all the time since they are the only boots for warlocks. Now I'm paying the price for making a logical decision. Xur has had no trouble selling the Voidfang Vestments SIX TIMES (including today) since he last sold the Transversive Steps though. He has sold 5 other warlock exotics multiple times since then as well. However, he hasn't sold the Ophidian Aspect or Astrocyte Verse even once. That's kind of ridiculous since we're already halfway into year 3. I'm basically just waiting until Xur sells them again. It's looking like that will be the only way that I get them. As far as that bug, I remember hearing about that when it was first discovered. I wasn't aware that it was ever fixed. If it was, I don't think that they announced it. Maybe I just missed it. Anyway, you're probably right about them not reversing the decrease to the drop-rate. Bottom line, I know that there is an issue with the drop-rate. I'm 100% certain and nobody can convince my otherwise at this point. That's why I made this post. I just hope that someone at Bungie has actually seen it and is aware of this issue. I was actually hoping to see this listed in the recent patch notes. I usually try to turn in a few exotic boot engrams after each patch just in case they stealth fix it. Maybe it will be resolved in the Spring Update if they happen to add any new exotics. If a new boot is added for any of the classes, maybe it will draw their attention to the drop-rates and they'll discover the problem.
