Defender Titan fun PvP build

Well hello everyone i hope you are all having a favorable time in our PvP enivronments during this read, just wanted to drop a quick little informational bit on probably the least utilized class in PvP... the defender titan. Now back in year one the subclass was far more popular i used it a lot in combination with pocket infinity which made for a deadly combo, however with a lot of old "broken" weapons removed its not as widely used. On my titan currently i run argueably one of the most interesting and challenging items to run a class with, the memlry of Felwinter. Yea you know, the one that removes your super in favor of 2 melee and 2 grenade charges. While most of you would think hey thats pretty stupid why bother running that the ward of dawn is one of the only good things about the defender. Ill tell you why, voidwalkers, bladedancers and strikers all make using the ward of dawn in pvp kind of pointless. Voidwalkers literally kill you inside the shield with a nova bomb from the outside, bladedancers stormcallers and strikers can all kill you in a tight spot so why run no super? Well aside from needing a decent amount of skill, you best ability as a titan hands down is your force barrier perk, so i think it goes without saying that for this to be a really functional build your going to want no backup plans, as well as universal remote. Now for me i like to have fun with this build, i run no backup plans with universal remote and matador 64 with a full auto and rangefinder roll on it as well as a sword. My gear stats put me above 300 on both strength and discipline and falls just short of 300 in intellect, however for this intellect is not needed. Also most of my gears stats increase shotgun carry ammo and yes in this i use both universal and matador alongside a sword. Now before you go pointing out some potential flaws or anything, yes the build is nkt perfect, you remove a major mechanic that we have all grown accustomed to having, but look at it like this, you no longer have an ability that can guarentee a kill if you dont entirely mess it up, your kills are solely on your skill and ability to move, not to mention that by using both shotguns and swords you severly limit your effective range, how do you combat a long range player then? Titan shuffle. Also another way to combat this is to useagnetic grenades instead of supression, trust me for long range applications they have a very good chance of gravitating to your target and that is a gaurenteed kill once it sticks. Combine these things together and you have a build that more or less requires you to think on the fly, sure you get your handy dandy force barrier and you get it more often, but you only get it after getting a kill. So you basically turned the class that was primarily a stationary tank into a flying fletchete launcher. I highly suggest tailoring a defender titan to this kind of build, you can always expermient with things but honestly theres nothing more satisfying to me then knowing you kicked ass while handicapping yourself in a sense. Now for those of you who are crack shots and hate titans understandable you have a preference and it works great for you, im very glad you found a comfort in this raging rng game, if all you use is long range equipment then you should be alright most wont use a straight up assault, just b aware and keep an eye on that prox radar. Because when someone using this build approaches that distance gap closes very quickly. Anyways hope any and all of you who gave this little tangent build a quick read have a wonderful day and have some excellent and satisfying games in PvP, and if youre having a bad time ladies and gents just remember, its just a game and its only purpose is for you to have fun with.

  • Brevity is the soul of wit. As for Defender - Yes, leave it untouched. I repeat, DO NOT NERF Defender. They're a very necessary part of the game, most particularly for newer players. The more we have in pvp the better off everyone is.
