House of Scar, Ch. 5: Arrival of Royals

This series will take place in the time of the House of Wolves. The House of Scar is a small house led by the kell, Vesrik, which he is rebuilding with his crew. This story will be as lore-accurate as possible. If you missed the last chapter, you can find it here. If you want to find all chapters, go to the Table of Contents. Comment, and please tell me what you think. Enjoy! Malone was once considered an ally. His spaceport, or "Heathen's Port", as it is commonly called, was a place where many Awoken repair ships, and replace broken ones. But it was also a place where any scum could relax, drink, and sleep. Now he has made a deal with the escaped House of Wolves, making him my enemy. He should have known he couldn't keep this under the table for long. As long as there are Wolves in Heathen's Port, it shall continue to face my wrath. Shuro and Illyn, one of seven in the Tech Witch Coven, approaches. Shuro says, "My Queen, we have reports that Falis is within the port. Shall we release the Harbingers?" I look at the two Techeuns and say, "No. Heathen's Port will be spared, but not unscathed. I want the Wolves flushed out, and Malone pinned within." Illyn says worriedly, "Your Grace, Petra has picked up comms from a third party here: The House of Scar, and it would seem their kell is inside, and she believes that his ketch sits in stealth somewhere close." Vesrik's crew is here, I thought to myself. No one trusts him, and every other Eliksni House despises him. Not that he cares, seeing how he has made a substantial and productive living as a pirate captain in the Reef. I have never met the misfit kell, but if he is with the Wolves, than I will not show mercy to the House of Scar. But for now, "Do not use heavy firepower on the port. Once the Wolves are flushed out, the Paladins will capture Mr. Malone, and we will... discuss things over." My Tech Witches knew that conversations with me isn't a grand experience. Falis and Malone were holding me captive with two of the Wolves' Guard; loyal to a fault, picked at birth, and brainwashed to be brutal warriors. Expect nothing less from guards of Wolf royalty. We felt the explosion hit the ship, and Falis and his guards look shaken. We all knew who was here, and they were coming for Malone. Falis tells Malone, "The Queen has come. Malone, stay here! The Wolves are going to take the fight space-bound." Malone is taken aback, retorting, "You can't leave! The Queen's Guard will board and outnumber my crew!" "If I stay here, the Queen will release the Harbingers!" Falis then holds his blade to the pirate's throat. "I'm not leaving you with an option, anyway." I snicker at Falis' intimidation methods, disappointingly working against Malone. The Wolves' Guard shoves me to follow Falis lead as we head for a hangar. I may have cuffs on, but I am a kell. My size is to my own advantage. I turn around to kick one of the guard in the chin. I then flip around to knock my elbow into the other guards' face, then knocking him down by kicking him in the chest. I bend down to use the guards' shock blade to cut the cuffs off, taking his blade. The other guard tries to get me from behind, but I turn around blocking his stroke, then following up by plunging my blade into his chest. The first guard falls to the ground, and I turn around to decapitate the second one. Falis took off running when he saw me kick the guard. Cowardly for being blood to Skolas, I thought. I had to contact Zatkis, who was still manning the ketch. I opened up the frequency. "Zatkis, come in!" He responded, "Vesrik, Vestian ships surrounding the area, Wolf ships fleeing the port. Are you alright?" "Yes, I am fine. Falis was here, and he is fleeing with his skiff. Do you see one with the Wolf Royal markings?" Zatkis contemplates for a second. "Not yet, no. Why?" "I want you to chase him, and keep him from escaping. Don't let him board the ketch." "Gotcha, I'll get my skiff ready, but what about you?" I reply, "Don't worry. My skiff is still parked here. I'll rendezvous with Valerie and Rager, and we'll get to the ketch. We'll keep stealth locked on so the Queen doesn't mistake us for... someone else." Zatkis says cheerfully, "Alright! I won't let him get away! Zatkis out!" I ran through the hallways, many of Malone's security and engineers running past me. Finally I run into Rager and Valerie. Rager approaches me, seeming a little overjoyed. "Vesrik! I didn't even know you were still onboard the spaceport." Valerie, sounding a little annoyed, "He snatched a drink before we came through this deck. By the way, I found the ship. We were just coming through to get you." I laugh at Rager's idiocy. "Well, how about we get down there? Zatkis is off the ketch, he's searching for Falis' skiff." Valerie says, a little concerned, "What about Malone? What do you think will become of him?" I say with a smirk, "I think he is why the Queen is here. I would hate to have a heated conversation with her. She's not the merciful type..." I shudder at the thought of what she does to her victims, almost feeling sorry for Malone. We get to the hangar with no opposition from Malone's guards Seeing how there is a red alert and the Queen attacking, I wouldn't expect much more. Our skiff sits in port, and we quickly board, Rager stumbling after a few drinks. He passes out in seconds after sitting down. Valerie applies the stealth tech, and then notices Rager snoring. "Vesrik, where did you find Dennis Rager, and better question, how did he become senior officer?" I laugh at the question, despite her being serious. "The first question is a story for another time, the second one I can. Rager is a hard working man, with much respect for me. He is a great fighter, engineer, and laborer. He does not question my judgment, and I only ask any of you to when it is clouded. He is a great man, with the attitude of a pirate. I would not judge him too quickly." I wink at her with two of my eyes after saying that. I suddenly get someone on the communications: Zatkis. "Vesrik! I am right behind Falis, and we have drifted out of the battle zone. I need more time, just tell me the asteroid we are heading for!" I begin to worry for my nephew. "Zatkis, are you okay? You sound stressed, are there any Wolf ships behind you?" "Negative, my kell! Just tell me the asteroid, and I will rendezvous there!" I still worried for him, but I trusted my nephew's good judgment. "We are going to 6 Demeter. It is safe from Wolf and any other pirates, as far as I have been told. Rendezvous there, and we will get the parts for the prime servitor." Zatkis was satisfied. "Good choice, Vesrik. I promise to meet you there. Zatkis, out!" We board the ketch and head up to the bridge, manned by a few barons and bridge crew. Valerie is having a baron hold Rager up, while she is getting him some coffee so he can sober up. I get up to my speech stand, which was made for me to make announcements to my bridge crew, just with a sprinkle of enthusiasm and adrenaline. "We have our heading, soldiers! The Scarship is heading for 6 Demeter to get the required parts for Teriks Prime. Ether will get not be able to sustain the Eliksni to come, and we need something to signify our legitimacy as an Eliksni house!" My crew cheers me on, especially the Eliksni, who are ready to regain their prime. "Zatkis is chasing Falis, and when he is done, he will rendezvous with us on the asteroid!" I stepped from my speech zone. "Pilot, set course for 6 Demeter!"
