Interesting stats and I can tell you that from an avg or slightly below avg player, trials hasn't interested me in months and months.. There is no incentive for me to become bullet fodder for the elite stacked teams or the carriers.. The bounties give me last years gear so why would I bother to get it when its not current. Bungie has done nothing to lure me to trials and has come out ant flat out said it isn't for everyone.. so if they want to tell me it wasn't made for me, why would I go play it. The elites push down our throats we need to get gud and that any suggestion to make changes that would encourage more of us to play are always shot down as we get told the game mode is for the best only. Tiers have been suggested, so have several alterations that would allow competition between skill levels to be fair and equitable, this of course would bring players in to play but, would likely take away streamers ability to make money.. which brings us to Skorri.. something that several have used successfully in strategies to beat other teams.. and its the less skilled apparently that are using it.. and teams are upset about this.. and re complaining to bungie to fix the problem.. funny.. before it was the skrubs told to get gud.. improve and that trials is for the best of the best.. If you are one of the best, you adapt to the change, you find a way to over come.. isn't that what has been preached to the lesser players for a couple years.. yet now.. when it is impacting elites earning potential, the old rules don't apply.. they want things to remain tilted in there favor.. Would I like to goto the lighthouse again.. get the new gear etc.. sure I would.. but, there is no incentive for me to bash my head against a wall with the way the system has been created.. I want to have fun and with the rules as they are, I get very little if anything out of becoming a bullet sponge.

I read it just fine and understood the point the gentleman was making very profoundly. Maybe you need glasses or some patience.

Not really, you seem to be the only one having problems reading the post. I don't see anyone else telling him to split his post in paragraphs.

  • im 40 years old posting back and forth with one individual. You are welcome to read it or not. While I understand grammar, I have little use for it on a forum about a game in which most of what is written is just keyboard warriors spouting shit. The person I was discussing this with understood my prose and that was all that matters to me. Thank you for your help and the grammar lesson but, it simply is not needed.

  • no disrespect meant just to be sure. Several kids in here could certainly use the lesson as I doubt they understand and use the grammar you suggest in more meaningful writing.

  • But you agree that the overall experience for you, as well as 'the elites' would be better if more people actually played the game mode? Also, I get flawless. I don't consider myself elite. I'm not bad. Just need a good team.
i hate this map
the experience wouldn't necessarily be better if more played the game mode.. more of the same is not going to make it better. That said, more people would likely play if the system gave them something to enjoy. With the game winding down, less people are going to play, and even less are willing to be sponges to the bullets that head there way when they are less competent than others. I will say that lag would be less an issue with more playing based on the matchmaking system bungie employs.. so yes, more players would make the experience better from a lag perspective. In order for more players to get involved with Trials, an equitable solution needs to be found. If bungie started enforcing its end user agreement where they do not allow guardians to make money on the game and therefore shut down the paid carries, less elite players would choose to continue to play after going flawless themselves as there is no money in it for them. This would then remove more players from the player pool and allow for less skilled players to keep at it and possibly have a way of reaching the rewards at 5/7 or 9 wins regardless of going flawless or not. By allowing the paid carries bungie is encouraging top players to stay in the player pool to both earn money and knock other players out of contention for rewards. This inturn causes players like myself to simply not play because the system is stacked against us.. I understand that people can play raids over and over and for no rewards, but, those carries, those attempt do not interfere with other players ability to get rewards, further, there is very little money being made in raid carries. Trials is against others and while I understand the wish for some to play it over and over because they are having fun, that fun doesn't come at the expense of bungies coding but, at the expense of other players and there pocketbooks, artificially inflating the pool of players available as competition and in such a way that it completely deters less skilled players from even attempting to play. as you say, the incentive needs to be there for players to play. The incentive currently is there for the elites, rewards and money.. the incentive is certainly not there for the avg and below avg players, change that and plenty more would play. While there may not be enough time or want to change trials for Vanilla destiny, perhaps for destiny 2, the end game pvp competition can provide the incentives for all parties wishing to play

  • Not really, because now everyone is running some one else's account... But I agree with everything else.

  • account recoveries (other player logs in to your own account an plays your character for you) I assume is what you are talking about with "everyone is running some on else's account" and while that may look like more people playing, the result is still a carry, likely paid for and would cease if bungie enforced its own rules.

  • Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. You had said that the elite players would leave, but they won't leave. They'll just be running some one else's account. Why is it called a recovery?

  • I'm guessing... recovering from an initially low kd. Maybe not even to reflect a higher kd than the player's current ability, but to make up for the long climb from sucktitude. That's completely a guess, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me.

  • this too makes sense.. I carry a .91 kd right now and can tell you the climb from the start 2.5 years ago with a .1 was tough. first fps and I had no thumbs.. got better over time but, its hard to get back to even when you are so far in the hole.

  • for the most part the elites will leave as there is little incentive for them to play someone elses account to go flawless if there is nothing in it for them which currently consists of a monetary gain. Take that away and there would be no incentive for account recoveries unless done for a few friends etc. Once a player has gone flawless, there would be little incentive for the elite player to continue to play aside from the prospect of being the heel and stopping other players from reaching the lighthouse. The monetary incentive is huge for many guardians, take that away and you effectively remove them once they have gone flawless. Sure there will always be a few who enjoy playing for whatever reason, but, a significant number would stop after 3 flawless runs. As for why it is called recovery.. your guess is as good as mine..

  • to be honest, when I have an issue with my work pc, I call a specialist and they will do an account recovery. they take control of my system and do whatever is necessary to get my system back up and running being they are the experts etc.. So I am guessing it has to do with that.. personally I think it should be called Trials Russian Roulette after the number of players who have gambled on this and had there characters deleted but, account recovery sounds far more pleasant.

  • Bungie could offer a freelance Trials mode where people aren't allowed to have fireteams and it at least be a place where people can try it out for fun as opposed to being used for a career lol. It may be harder to go flawless there but maybe not, who knows? I just like the idea that no one in there could carry ANYONE!
