To be honest, I'm more afraid of people who know a lot about explosives than I am distrustful of people who open carry, carry an illegal weapon, etc.
Timothy Mcveigh being a good example of what determined people can do without firearms.

What did he do?

if you don't know what Timothy McVeigh did, he was the Oklahoma city bomber. he was a crazy anti-gov't guy(and interestingly, supposedly a part of the CIA's MKULTRA program in his college years which might be why he was crazy) that blew up a federal building by using plant fertilizer and a couple common household ingredients with basic chemistry to make a huge explosive which he drove into a building from afar, killing and injuring hundreds. basically it was the worst attack on the US pre-9/11. he was later found out and executed for his crimes and the formula for fertilizer was changed. the point the other guy was making in the subthread is that unexpected/determined crazies can be much more dangerous than guns.
