Triple Threat Titans 67- ...And They're Still Posioned

*This chapter is told by Mr. Brain Injury Himself, JJ* I woke up, with a dart in my neck. First thought, Darts still exist? Then I remembered the Snowfort War, and yanked the dart out of my neck. If it was a poison dart, I should be affected… I looked around me. Blake was on my left, with two knots in his forehead. That means the Warlock hit him in the head twice, or Chase got mad at him. Okay, I remember who Blake is. That’s good. Chase was in front of me, studying me. I remember Chase… That’s good. My question was the Warlock. Dead Orbit armor, red shader, and red sniper. With a weird scope. TacSys, maybe? “Who are you?” I asked him. (Or them. I wasn’t sure if this Warlock was a guy or girl.) Chase facepalms himself, “Did you forget who I was again?” “No Chase, I remember you… I'm wondering who the Warlock is,” I replied. I’d seen this guy before, I swear. I had a vague memory of an Exo Warlock I had met. Nickname was “Freight Train.” But I don’t think that Warlock in particular had Dead Orbit gear. The Warlock finally answered, “Sorry, for shooting you with the dart. I’m Gusty.” Familiar metallic ring in his voice. Check. Sounded like a robot dude. Yep. He’s an exo. “Why did you shoot me with the dart?” I asked. “That, is classified information,” Gusty replied. “Get up, JJ,” Chase told me. I got back to my feet. “What do you remember?” Gusty asked, his Ghost transmatting in a clipboard. My memories must’ve been a snake to him, because he was prodding at it with a stick. “I remember a lot of stuff for some reason, so I’m gonna tell you what doesn’t make any sense,” I warned Gusty. The amount of stuff I remembered was crazy. I remember a memory of a younger, and scrawnier Chase sitting in front of a screen with a two handed remote in his hands. Another memory was giant flaming green knight knocking me into a wall. Didn't sound fun. One involved a younger version of myself playing basketball in a gym, only using less than half of the court. In that memory, Chase was playing against me, and we both had teams. Blake was off to the side shooting a basketball at one of the side hoops with two or three other kids. I told Gusty about all of it, as he was taking notes. Sometimes Delphi would chime in to time to time saying that a few of those memories might be pre-Golden-Age. There was one thing I didn’t tell Gusty. I remember a girl. Light skin, golden brown hair, hazel eyes. She was in many memories. Depending on the memory, she looked a different age. Like, in that memory of playing against Chase in basketball, she appeared about the same age of almost everyone else-- 12 or 13. In that particular memory, she would be running laps around the gym, occasionally walking or stopping to give someone their basketball. The last clear memory of her, was when she in Warlock gear, a hand cannon in her hand, her Ghost floating at her shoulder, standing in front of me. She looked only 15 in that memory. Otherwise, I don’t remember much about her. No name. No story. No nothing. But there was a few gaps in my memories. For example, I swear Chase and Blake weren’t the only ones that were fighting the Titan mercenaries with me on Mercury. Or when we went to fight that giant green knight, there was more than four other guardians there. “Do you have anything you would like to add,” Gusty asked. “No,” I replied sternly. “Okie dokie,” Gusty replied, “I’ll catch you all in a strike or something. Until then, later!” The Warlock was gone, transmatted away by his Ghost. “What was that about?” I asked. Delphi sighed, “That dart Gusty shot you with was something to help restore your memories. After that encounter with Crota-- that knight you were going on and on about-- you list a good amount of your memories.” “I will say, I think it worked a little too well,” Chase admitted, “You remember stuff before becoming a guardian.” The Venusian Jungle had an odd beauty. All the depressing ruins of a research station, combined with a lush jungle, weird Vex ruins, constant rain, and a nearby river seemed to be tied together by the setting sun. The beauty was just as odd as the effects of that dart. To be continued…
