I saw footage of the beta on YT and to be honest I an not impressed.
It looks just like any other generic shooter multiplayer game but with swords and bows instead of guns.
Seems like there is no strategy involved, just people running around hacking and slashing each other, mostly ignoring the NPC's.
And looks like that same generic progression system you see in CoD and TF and the like.
Looks pretty though.
It feels like they could do so much more with it.
For me it it just does not look very intresting, Chivalry did this years ago with more strategy and players on the field, sure that did not look as good but the gameplay looked a lot better.
Still my opinion though, and based in seeing a few YT clips, so I might be wrong, although I don't think that is likely.

The strategy is all in the fights and learning your opponents attacks. The AI learns and adapts to your attacks. Each of the 9 characters has different specialties and different weaknesses. And the beta is still very limited in what we can do (not to mention the story cannot be played). For me it's a massive progression above one of my favorite things about Assassins creed: the combat. I love the way that each encounter is different and that each character is very unique. The gear progression and stuff is a bit clunky but I'm hoping it will be altered in the full release

Well the fighting itself did look pretty good I admit, but intresting 1v1 fights look few and far between, often ending in a 3 on 1 gank. And it is primarily a MP game so from the story I don't really expect that much, maybe a 5 hour campaign filled with setpieces. Again I might be wrong, but this was the impression I got from it. I am sure many like this sort of game, and that is fine, it just does not look like my kind of thing and I liked Chivalry and think Dark Souls is one of the best games ever. Definitly wait for a review for me. It also does not help that there are quite a few games that I am intrested in on the horizon :-p
