For 2 reasons.
1. It's got way to many bosses. It has 1 enemy/puzzle encounter and after that 4 boss encounters with nothing in between. It's not a lot of fun to constantly be pressured by boss fights.
2. Those 4 boss fights are all incredibly mechanic heavy. The Warpriest is realistically the only boss in King's Fall that can be defeated without all 6 members. Golgoroth has too much health to lose DPS from even one person. The Daughters and Oryx have incredibly complex mechanics that require the entire team to be alive for. If lose even one person, especially on heroic mode, it may as well be an immediate wipe. In every other raid you can lose a person and still have hope to 5 man the encounter.

Alright. Let me know how it worked out for you when 1 of your platform guys died and your runner fell before grabbing the relic. As opposed to VoG's Atheon fight where 4 people could be dead and you could have 1 person on the inside and 1 on the outside and still finish it.
-
Depending on how quick they died and who's running you could do it The biggest problem with kings fall is the people who would freak out and auto wipe after one person dies regardless of what's going on

Edited by TFL Washington: 1/19/2017 4:10:12 PMThere's no reason to keep going though because odds are you aren't going to be about to get the Aura in time if the runner falls from one platform to another.

Raids should be punishing and difficult imo
-
Read my replies to other people. King's Fall wasn't challenging.

I have and we'll have to agree to disagree, I like lots of mechanics in raids and whatnot. I expect raids to be harsh if anyone screws up. With that said though, I still like Wrath of the Machine a lot. I would like to see hard mode have many more mechanics (instead of one or two changes) while keeping normal mode fairly simple and straight to the point (like wrath of the machine).
-
Fair enough. I just find it to be more of a challenge to lose someone or multiple people and still manage to complete an engagement or boss fight. Not have the whole team screwed over immediately if someone makes one little mistake that doesn't even kill them. Forced team wipes is not a challenge in my opinion.
-
I'm a big fan of the heavy mechanics. It's 6 man for a reason and it's a good all-around feeling when everyone completes their own individual tasks to get the job done.
-
That's your preference. I'm just explaining my own opinion on it. Also read my reply to the other guy. It's more of challenge to lose someone and still complete an area than it is to be forced to wipe if someone made a mistake that they didn't even die from.
-
Yeah, I agree that one person down shouldn't equal a wipe. But tbh, on every part of the KF raid I've completed with 5.
-
I never said it wasn't possible to complete every section with 5 people. I am saying that in King's Fall it's more likely to cause an immediate wipe with only 5 people left than any other raid. But you have your preference and I have mine.
-
The first reason I agree. The second one, no. Raids are meant to be challenging. Kings Fall was the best challenge because it kept everyone on their toes throughout the entire raid. But yes, it was boss-heavy.

Edited by TFL Washington: 1/19/2017 2:21:39 AMI completely agree that they are supposed to be challenging. However my definition of a challenge isn't an immediate team wipe because one person could've made a simple mistake. A challenge to me is completing an area or boss fight that still requirs mechanics to be completed but managing to do succeed with only 4 or 5 people. Like the Gatekeeper section in VoG. I remember many times from Vanilla Destiny, losing a couple people and still managing to get the relics and defend the conflux successfully. Or managing to kill Crota even though we lost some people from the Ogres back during TDB days. My idea of challenge is not having a forced wipe because a guy accidentally backed up to far on his plate and caused the platforms to disappear even though we only needed one more round of bombs. The way Bungie designed King's Fall makes it demand perfection from the players on the mechanics and yet the boss fight's designs and mechanics aren't even close to being what they demand from the players. It's flawed and full of artificial difficulty.

Very good points. I couldn't agree with you more.

Thank you. And thank you again for keeping it civil. I do like having debates on here but they are extremely rare. Most people immediately resort to insults and rage when someone disagrees with them.
-
That be the majority of the internet haha.

Lol That's very true.
