its a great raid indeed! the boss battles are cool and the jumping puzzles are hilarious! the loot is good too, but people are STILL too hung up on elemental primaries, and so they'll sheepishly declare the KF guns poop, despite cocoon being an amazing perk! and functionally, the raid is great because it has less "hero" roles, which means less "open" slots for carrying. see, in VoG, you could have two to four people carrying everybody else through. CE is solo-able so a single person could carry 5 through. but in KF, you have NO leeway at totems (everybody cycles through eveyr role), warpriest might have about 3 easy roles. golgoroth has about 4. but after that it quickly drops to about 2 easy roles at sisters, and barely ONE "easy" role on Oryx (both of which are the "floor" positions. but on oryx its still an important one because you have the responsiility of Ogres). in my opinion, KF>VoG.

Honestly the weapons in King's Fall are some of the worst we've ever seen in Destiny. The Machine Gun is great and no one would doubt it was their heavy choice in all of TTK. After that though, there are maybe 3 other guns that saw some use. The Pulse Rifle with Firefly was a solid raid and overall weapon until the pulse damage got nerfed and it really couldn't compete outside of the raid. The Scout with Full Auto again also had its moments. The Sniper is the only weapon that also made an appearance in PVP because of its massive aim assist, but it's not a desirable impact profile.

  • no mention of cocoon whatsoever. but it sounds like your talking about PVP. in PVE, the raid weapons are amazing.

  • Why would I need to mention Cocoon? Cocoon is amazing on the machine gun, but that's basically it. As far as the raid goes, when do you need the raid weapons for the raid? Black Spindle is by far the ultimate choice up to the Sisters where Touch of Malice then takes over. I mentioned Qullims as being the best of the bunch, so that will sit in your arsenal, but nothing else is "required" or "god tier" to do the raid. I definitely stand by my breakdown of the weapons.

  • well nothing is "required" in any event, even the raid guns in the raid itself. but i also persist: cocoon is an under-appreciated perk.

  • Let's look at it from another angle and pretend cocoon is the best perk in the game. No amount of cocoon is going to make the hand cannon, auto rifle, shotgun, fusion rifle, or rocket launcher even remotely good. They are just really bad weapons from their stats to perks (even if we assumed cocoon is a top tier perk). The problem is cocoon's benefit greatly varies depending on the weapon. On the Machine Gun, I 100% agree which is why it's by far the best gun from the raid.

  • Cocoon is not a good perk.

  • its a GREAT perk! and if you use all three weapons with cocoon? goodbye reload time! reload time is what lowers DPS, mind you, so for that fact alone cocoon is great.

  • Or you could; use black spindle where you don't reload period. use something like a sword which doesn't reload period. use something that has so much dps that whatever you shoot at it doesn't matter that you need to reload because it's dead like Gjallarhorn

  • BS; you miss a SINGLE shot, there goes your DPS (also uses your exotic slot). sword; a lot of bosses dont let you get close ( they have trust issues). gjonkerham; its a high BURST damage weapon, but it quickly falls off, and then fails completely if you dont feed it those purple bricks. its also de-throned as the undisputed DPS king. again, it uses your exotic slot. cocoon suffers from a lack of pizzaz. its not explosions born from more explosions, its a good solid DPS that hinges on little extra factors. its unload, switch, repeat. its a very very solid DPS outlet that is pretty versatile too. but mostly, its under appreciated.

  • I'm talking about Wrath of the Machine. Sword for aksis. (DPS the boss) Gjallarhorn for zamboni. (Quickly kill groups of enemies/Yellow captains) Sleeper stimulant and/or sniper for archpriest. (DPS or captains) Black spindle can be used, but you're right about missing meaning that it's useless. But I rarely miss. I'm not trying to sound cocky, it's just that if the boss is staggering, I'm hitting crits. Hell, even in King's Fall, cocoon was rarely used. You used Touch of Malice or Black spindle.

  • i realised that when you went with the sword, but despite that what i said holds even better: cocoon works very well in ANY instance. they provide a stream-lined DPS even when fighting ads, as time spent reloading is time ads deal damage or are otherwise alive. BS doesnt do well against ads. swords and g-thong do, to a point, and that point is ammo, where-as cocoon weapons encompass ALL weapon categories, again granting them much wider versatility than BS, swords, or gjonkerham. i know that cocoon is rarely used and that is exactly my point: it is under used and under appreciated for the boon that it is. if other guns could have cocoon, then it'd EASILY be a top-tier perk (for PVE. it has niche uses in PVP but thats not my focus).

  • Gjonkerham. Why is this so funny? I understand what you mean, but all I'm saying is that things like Sleeper, Gjallarhorn, and Swords do it better for the raid. Any other content, I'll let you have the benefit of the doubt.

  • it's funny how you get used to cocoon... then start running a loadout of weapons without it. I switched to a lot of empty weapons, lol Before I got the Spindle, I'd use 1KYS until Golgy, then switch to raid sniper. On Golgy I'd empty my raid sniper mag, switch to QT & empty mag, then back to sniper, never reloading. Man, I want to run KF now! lol
