I don't actually understand why people think Tone's so overpowered, or even annoying for that matter. Even though I play as Ronin a lot, I feel as if he's more of an annoyance than Tone.
Tone, to me, is a more difficult Titan to play. You need to be accurate in order for one of his abilities and even his Core to be effective. Sure, the Sonar Lock is a compensation for one or even two hits with his weapon, but you still need to be accurate in general to get the abilities to work.
I may have an outdated experience, seeing as I played Tone probably two months ago or so.

Yeah you need to hit, but his weapon isnt hard to hit with, and every 3 hits you get a rocket barrage that does good damage, and his core is pretty much "point at titan to kill them" even if they run around cover

Hm. Then, I don't really get irritated at Titans all that much, then. Though, Ronin melee spammers irritate the hell out of me.

Ronins can get messed up easily by northstar and Ion at range, scorch in cqc, and legions at any range

I agree, but whenever they just dash up to you and start using nothing but their melee both irrtates and slightly disorients me. Somehow, I never expect them to do it.
