I like how users must declare they have muted another user.
In a way, it's asking for attention to the fact that they are muting someone. It's still a frowned upon practice since the old Bungie.net days. It's even hypocritical for some of the arguers below.

Saying muted just means that you're insecure, if someone is actually bothering you you'd just do nothing or block them. You wouldn't scream "muted". What gets me is when people say they have muted you and they still reply.
