I am currently part of New Monarchy. That's because I'm trying to do the Exotic quest. My main faction is Dead Orbit. I have the same reason you have. I also like the fact that everyone else hates them. They hate them because they know that Dead Orbit has the right answer.

Finally got the drop from NM that allowed me to finish NM exotic quest. Really disappointed I put that time in for worthless cape.

I just wanna finish the quests because I'm a collector of Exotic Armour.
