My post is not about breaking down the technical aspects of how the game mode works, i've already done that at great length... It's pointless, people don't give a shit. But the one truth remains, the Lightouse doesn't mean anything more than a standard pub stomping In the crucible.

  • All I saying is that no one stop you but yourself and team, yes the trials setup is shit but it what we have and bungie isn't going to do any major changes this late in the game. But now I'm starting to get really pissed off with losing games to lag is getting annoying

  • Well we're getting into some shit I can talk about: Three reasons cause lag in Trials, and all 3 were created by the current card position based MM. Which is also in relation to my indictment of inaccessibility... 1. Lower player count: Once Trials was locked down by professional players due to it being a 90% chance you will play a professional team after 5 wins, casual players left in droves. Lower player count means less chance you will play players who you have a good connection with. 2. Cheating: some casual players didn't quit, they resorted to packet bombing, lag switches, hacks, and DOS attacks to close the gap in an otherwise inaccessible mode. Other motives for cheating are related to guaranteed, payed carries. As casual players quit Trials, the only people left are the hardcore. Paid carriers don't want to mess around with 4-5 attempts at taking a carry to the lighthouse. I know this for a fact. 3. Card MM narrows the player pool: As you climb on your card, getting wins, the game aggressively ignores skill and connection, to ensure that you play players at your card position. This further narrows the player pool in an already shrinking player base, in a shrinking player base for the entire game of Destiny. But you know what... -blam!- good gameplay, -blam!- accessibility, and -blam!- the health of the game. The most important thing, is making sure the elite have their "special snowflake" status, streamers get views, and paid carriers make money off of this broken game mode.
obligatory GIT Gud scrub

obligatory "trials is only for the best"

obligatory someone at BUNGIE said some BS in a tweet

obligatory GIT Gud scrub

obligatory "trials is only for the best"

obligatory someone at BUNGIE said some BS in a tweet

Well said brother. Yes something needs to change with trials. It's a constant sweat-fest with almost no chance of going flawless. Shotgun maps are taken over by snipers, snipe maps are taken over by jugg-shotgun warrior Titans, there no mid-range game anymore and most exotic weapons are useless unless it's TLW. Trials is getting people to quit. It's no longer fun. We all loved the challenge it used to provide. But now it's just too stressful and leaves us with a feeling of hopelessness. We keep playing it hoping to get lucky and have a card that's challenging but not impossible to win like it would be now against god players. Something has to change or the rest of us will just walk away too.

  • People simply have to stop doing bounties... The streamers are already struggling to carry, so it's only matter of time before something happens.

  • Yeah it's actually quite interesting to watch some of them now. Alot of the top streamers are getting stopped on 1st game cards now lol.

  • I agree and Im just sat here waiting to see streamers choke in there own perceived success. As more and more, lets say casual players give up on Trials, it can only leave the elite, streamers and sweats. Then they themselves have inadvertently created there worst fear! SBMM, as they will only have themselves to play against. I so hope that happens. To be fair, I don't have an issue where highly skilled players have there own arena to fight. I have an issue when they complain that they are being matched up with players with same or better skill levels and not being matched with players vastly inferior to them. They just don't like SBMM. I realise there are a dozen reasons for not having SBMM but I don't accept that one.

  • Well if Bungie wants to create this ultra competitive environment, they need to grow, monetize, and ultimately incentivize it with a Esports backing. Imagine each each week the top trials players playing in a flawless bracket are featured on bnet stream with guest commentators (Streamers from the community). What if players could watch the screen on a large monitor in the tower.?

  • And remove it completely from the main game. If anything is made escorts it has no place in the main game. I'm already sick of our need game pvp being trials.

  • That my friend is already happening and it will be interesting to see if the sweats disappear but very unlikely. https://gamerant.com/destiny-esports-league-400/

  • But going to sbmm won't help the casual players, restrictions would only make it worst. Trials is meant for the best in pvp but soon lag involved skill goes out the window. I've read many of your post and others about how to fix trials but most would make it worst or drive the dedicated away from it. I don't have the solutions but I do agree changes are needed

  • You'll need to find another post to argue these points. I had a better experience in year 1, and it wasn't card based, what can I say? Nothing will change that, and it doesn't matter what they do, people will work around it because they have a will to exploit other players.

  • Yea I'm guess I'm just pissed off with the lag in trials, I love this game and it only thing I enjoy. The lighthouse doesn't fuss me but I would like to see fair, even and good connections, which I won't see until d2
