The Scarab Beetle enemy.

One more theory before the year is out. Today I’m going to talk about a race that bungie slipped in. Let’s get started. I’ll give you a quick run down of the race. Blue and yellow beetle people with the ability to go invisible. Their ships are likely the pyramid ships from the loading screen. They probably do solar damage, may be what Osiris has been training us to fight and they may give us some insight on the vex origins or just the vex in general. Now to explain where I got all that nonsense. This all begins with the “Don’t touch me” gauntlets, and their description:
Amputated from a creature that stumbled out of a Vex gate. A vestigial defensive reflex still remains.
I’m sure many of you have read that but never gave it much though. There’s a creature that came from a vex gate. This creature had the ability to go invisible. That alone makes me wonder. The gauntlet themselves is where I figured it was some kind of beetle person due to one detail on the armor. The big horn sticking out of the right shoulder. It’s very reminiscent to a beetle horn. Let’s also not forget the other beetle gauntlets that lets you turn invisible, Khepri's Sting. This too has a beetle on it. Though it isn’t blue and the beetle seems much smaller, I wouldn’t say it isn’t related. On that note, Who here is familiar with Khepri?
He’s an egyptian god who is associated with the scarab (or dung) beetle. Like the dung beetle, which pushes around balls of dung, one myth suggests Khepri pushes the sun around Earth. For this he is considered the solar deity.
Conveniently, there’ something else in the destiny universe that has an egyptian theme to it. (well, two things) Osiris and the pyramid ships. Osiris made the trials to prepare us for the darkness to come. That could mean a whole host of things, but with some subtle hints here and there, I think we can find out specifically what he’s talking about. There’s an entire set of titan armor called Scarab’s vigil. There’s an emblem with a scarab beetle on it. A majority of Osiris related things deal with solar energy. (The sunbreakers, the many Osiris sites on Mercury, etc) More than a few references the that beetle. There’s also that “creature” that stumbled out of a vex gate. Osiris seems to center his research on the vex which may lead him to discover this race. Which brings me to my final point. I’m not sure what connection this beetle race would have to the vex but I think they are enemies. The creature was said to have “Stumbled out” and they say that they amputated it’s arm to make the gauntlet. Unless it was a guardian that killed it when it stepped out, I’m left to assume it was in a battle with the vex but was forced to retreat, so it stumbled through the fire to try and escape through a vex gate. It probably got hit, then died on the other side of the portal. So if we compile all that, we have a decent picture of a new threat. A beetle-like race (probably blue and yellow in color) They can turn invisible and have some ties to the vex. Thank you for your time. Hope you enjoyed, and have a happy new year.
Back to master thread: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/205238605?showBanned=0&path=0
Cheers! :D

 • This is a really cool theory that I hope is true. Not only would it be a huge breath of fresh air but I also just made a theory that goes well with this. Not to self advertise but it's about the nine preparing us for a catastrophe that will happen in destiny 2 and an army of insectoid aliens that can turn invisible fighting the vex would definitely count as a catastrophe. Again great theory that I really hope is true. Just imagine fight hoards of scarabs people flitting in and out of view. It'd be a whole new thing.
