I think if you put extra rewards for the flawless players that go flawless in another bracket it will create the same situation. If the rewards are less substantial, like an emblem or something, no big deal, but if you drop super awesome shaders and better loot for the tiered system, people will still be wanting that loot and it's the same circle of I want it, it's not fair I can't ever achieve that will continue. I think a tiered system would work, but not if the loot at the very top was anything more than an emblem. I think that just going back to year one trials mm would make a huge differnce. There is no question that trials needs a desperate overhaul. Soon. Like last year. Like...it's not dying, it's dead. Show it and the community that wants to play it and love it, some love.

  • Without higher rewards at the top there would be no reason to play it. It would take a game mode made for elites and turn it into one made for entitled casuals.

  • Or for the majority of the community. Don't care about those guys?

  • So maybe they don't get extra rewards in upper tiers, just bragging rights, so what? So they go flawless on all three, get the guns, the armor drops, the ornaments then go on to battle other flawless teams to see who's got more balls. Frankly I don't give a shit about the elitist. They've held the reins for two years now. Time to open trials up for the majority and bring people back to an amazing part of the game. It's shit in its current state with the same people going over and over, sometimes just to keep others out, like gate keepers, paid flawless carries, and the most despicable disgusting elitist lfg posts ever seen on any gaming recruitment forums. Trials is and has been -blam!-ed. If it were as good as the elite say it is, then more people would be playing it. They're not. Obviously we (the community and bungie) should take a step back, analyze it and see what can be done to make trials better for everyone, not just a few at the top.

  • Game mode? Trials is a game mode for the elite. They introduced elimination for the casuals that liked it. Bungie admitted themselves the lighthouse isn't meant for everyone. The lighthouse only offers cosmetics. It is only bragging rights. Yet casuals are still crying. A tournament style game mode will never work if the champs don't have their trophies. Take away the incentive and the players go away too. Casuals can already attain all trials gears without going flawless. The only argument is "I'm not good enough to go flawless so I'll make up silly excuses to try and get Bungie to hold my hand all the way to the lighthouse".

"They introduced elimination for the casuals that liked it." 1.did they? They said that? And they all liked it? Did they? Says who? You? Data? Facts? And every time I jump into elimination, it's full of practicing trials teams. Your statement makes no sense to me. Sweaties don't play elimination? Or what your saying is that if casuals want to sweat like they're playing trials, they can do it, but just without the rewards? Because that doesn't really make it for them only and still doesn't even look at why people play trials in the first place. "Bungie admitted themselves the lighthouse isn't meant for everyone." 1.I think they have said something to that effect in the past, however, I don't think they meant to exclude so much of the population. I think they were referring to a system where there would be huge numbers of players playing and only the best would see the lighthouse and that makes sense. But as we know now and have for a long time, the changes to matchmaking have destroyed that and their attempt to throw in consolation prizes has failed. The numbers are not there. They did not come back for the slaughter. There is a real problem. Denial, will not fix it. "The lighthouse only offers cosmetics. It is only bragging rights. Yet casuals are still crying." 1. True. The flawless rewards are only cosmetic, but as I think almost anyone would agree, this game revolves around cosmetics. Hell, it's how they make their money. Ever heard of eververse? People pay cash for cosmetics. Why? To look different. And in a game where there is not slot of diversity, cosmetics mean much more than you're alluding to. This game is cosmetic. Can't minimize that. 2. Rather than referring to all the "casuals" as being crybabies, maybe you should take another look. I'm not saying that every post wanting a trials change or even overhaul is legit and should taking with the utmost sincerity, but maybe, when a majority of any group is saying the same thing, maybe, there's some substance there. Maybe, just maybe, you can step down from your throne long enough to listen to the other side. I understand that top tier players that can achieve flawless with little effort want it to remain that way. Why wouldn't they? But those people out there (majority) that cannot, also paid money for the same content. They shouldn't just get the rewards because they want them, but maybe a more fair chance at obtaining them wouldn't hurt that much. Year one MM was a good way of players to see competition and also have a chance at Mercury, is that so bad? It's the elite calling the majority snowflakes and when it seems to me that it's the people at the top that just want to stay there...and stay special in their own way. (Won't call them snowflakes) but they like being in their own category of awesomeness. Any post regarding trials change is a threat to their livelihood and the reactions reflect that. Just take the time to consider that maybe change would be better. If you're a good player, you have a team, you'll always be where you need to be, but others maybe not have those opportunities and would like a little change.

  • Trials was made so the elites can have their endgame PvP and exclusivity. The majority of the community has Raids and Iron Banner.
