Why the parody posts, who started this, where did it come from? I'm so tired of seeing a post and then all it's offspring

I eliminated at least 15 of yesterday's and today's already from my view. I just don't understand the mindset of those who create them, thinking they're funny when in fact they just can't reason out when something has been done that it needs to end.
