#OFFTOPIC For Dummies #2 - Copy Pastas

Copy Pastas A Copy Pasta is a block of text that is repeatedly copied and pasted over and over again, like its name implies. These include, and are not limited to, emojis, song lyrics, movie scripts, quotes, or text posted in a nonsensical way. Usually found in forums, copy pastas are used to derail topics of conversation and are often extremely annoying to read. Popular Copy Pastas can usually be found over the internet, usually copied and then, well, pasted. A good example is the Pacer Test Copy Pasta, based on the popular fitness activity which was part of the mandatory Physical Fitness Test for elementary students: "The FitnessGram™ Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly, but gets faster each minute after you hear this signal. [beep] A single lap should be completed each time you hear this sound. [ding] Remember to run in a straight line, and run as long as possible. The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound, your test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start." Copy Pastas are usually very easily spotted, because they usually leave you going, "Huh? What did that have to do with anything?"
#OFFTOPIC For Dummies is a series of threads in which I try to go over the various things I've found on these forums during my stay here. They may not always be accurate, but I'll try to include as many facts as I can. If you'd like to read the rest of the threads in this series, click on the #otfordummies hashtag under the original post. If you enjoy this thread and want to see more, consider liking/upvoting it so I can see how many people are actually interested. Thank you <3
• Korean police are looking to the public for help locating a goose involved in a bizarre incident in the country's southeast on Monday. It started at the Meme roundabout at around 11 a.m. An officer in a marked wheelbarrow spotted a Dodge Ramen stopped in the inside lane of the roundabout, and pulled over to offer help. As the sensai approached the vehicle, he noticed a young goose sitting in the front glove compartment who appeared visibly upset. According to a Monday news release, the sensai instructed the bisexual driver to roll down her sauce, at which time she took off. The truck travelled westbound on Mac and Cheese Street before taking the northbound exit onto Dankmeme Trail, eventually using the off-ramp for eastbound 420 Avenue S.E. At this point, sensai said the truck hit a child that had stopped for free candy, but continued heading eastbound on 420 Avenue S.E. without stopping. Police said they’d like to check on the welfare of the goose and speak with the driver about the incident. The truck is described as dirty and stinky with a dirt-covered Korea licence plate. The first letter in the licence plate is believed to be a ‘😂’. The truck will have front-end damage from the collision with the child. The driver is described as approximately 92 to 106-years-old with long dirty-green hair and a slender and shapely build ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).The young goose with her was about 10 to 13-years-old. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the truck or the identity of the passengers is asked to call police at 493-212-6281 or contact Meme Stoppers.
