Don't care.
You don't get a second chance when you f*ck up that much. I ain't a schmuck.

They had 2 lawsuits and a studio flood throughout development

Edited by mccwrc09: 12/1/2016 12:14:44 AMThey had a very rocky start Is there not a shred of empathy? No matter how small?
-
And that's a valid excuse to you?
-
That's pretty black and white of you, but its your choice. Nothing wrong woth that.
-
They just pushed out an update alongside "It's been really hard the past few months. This means a lot". The woe-is-me approach don't fly.
-
Despite how their delivery is perceived, the update is an improvement to the game. Survival is a good change in pace, as well as the other more subtle changes they have made. Its a good sign, in my opinion.
-
It's a good change and a good sign. But it's stuff they sold everyone on in the first place, and they haven't given so much as an apology.
-
You probably wont get one. I never did get an apology either for ps3 skyrim lol.
-
All the same, I don't really like Bethesda either.
-
Its funny. They always, always, ship their games and are bug ridden, and they get a pass. Hell, some even find it endearing. Even pc version of dishonored 2 needed emergency patch work and not much of an outcry. While any other dev gets flak and sometimes even death threats. I'll never understand the double standard when it comes to bethesda.
-
Because the TES playerbase is more mature than those who put forth death threats. A cursory glance at their forums will show you this. Not saying Beth get a free pass, just calling it how I see it.
-
I've seen the same people bashing one game for bugs and glitches while validating fallouts or tes. They'd say "oh but fallout/skyrim is a huge open world game there's bound to be guys. Give them a chance to fix them, Bessie's they are funny!). All the while criticising another, and then when you point out an equally large and open game like witcher 3 with little to no bugs, they got nothing to say Its got nothing to do woth maturity.

Age doesnt necessarily bring maturity, and people like that are (or at least were) uncommon on the TES boards.

Edited by Psyntifik: 11/29/2016 7:40:09 PMThe TES playerbase is mature? Yeah, kay. Its more to do with the fact that Bethesda can basically do no wrong as far as their fans are concerned.
-
It is. General convo etc on their forums is leaps and bounds more civilized than this cesspit. Same with the Elite Dangerous forums. Same with the Forza 4 forums way back when.
-
Edited by Psyntifik: 11/29/2016 7:47:52 PMI don't think here is a good place to compare. The remaster proved Bethesda fans just swallow whatever they're given and enjoy it.
-
Tbh anyone who bought the remaster either skipped Skyrim to begin with, could get it cheap, or is a diehard fan. The former and latter will always be positive. Doesnt change the fact that even in the face of appalling incompetence (PS3 Skyrim, bleeeeeech) civility was maintained. This place is a perfect example of an immature playerbase. Diablo 3, CoD, the list goes on. Elite is the perfect example of a mature playerbase. Its civil enough that developers commonly interact with the community. I've even shared banter with a couple, the sort of banter that say, DeeJ abstains from because of the tidal wave of bile that would follow.
-
I'm not understanding the need to bring ED into this - the community and the developers aren't a great deal alike.
-
Its an example of a mature community. One of (sadly) few I've been a part of. It reminds me of the TES community. Thats why I bring them up.
-
The TES community is hardly remembered for being mature. They are mostly die hard fans who are fine with you until you criticise a Bethesda game.
-
Were you ever a member on the boards?
-
Don't particularly care for Bethesda anymore. I haven't touched them since Skyrim. Anyone on those boards are likeminded, which is why you won't see a great deal of hostility.
-
Also, no PvP also helps there IMHO. However, still, buggy games, devs called out but not sent death threats and histrionic essays about how they are being boycotted.
-
Because Skyrim is believed to be the best thing since sliced bread.
