Sound advice. I too like to reload after a kill. When I first started playing FPS games (Battlefield 3!) I never remembered to manually reload. I'd shoot at someone, then run around until I got into another encounter, start shooting only to run out before he died and then die myself. So it became reflex to reload after an encounter. But you're right, the smart thing would be to scan the area, make sure you're not about to get into another encounter and then move to cover and only then reload.
What's even worse is when I kill someone, initiate the reload and continue moving forward, only to walk into an encounter I could've delayed if only I'd stood still while reloading. Don't get me started on why I developed the habit of always staying on the move (damn snipers!)
