Hello, my name is Punisher24689 and I'm addicted to reloading.
I came here to talk about my problem, not because I want all of you to feel sorry for me but because I need to start changing. Yes, I reload too often and I have come to terms with who I am and am ready to fight for a new me. It's a serious problem you see, every single time I'm done pew pewing I hit the X button. Even if I only shoot one bullet I reload and it gets me killed more often than I'd like to admit. Please. Help me get over this terrible habit I beg you. its an addiction and sooner or later it's going to lead to sprinting around every corner.... DON'T FALL INTO THIS TERRIBLE CHASM. BE READY FOR EVERY ENCOUNTER YOU GET YOURSELF INTO. DON'T GET CAUGHT WITH YOUR PANTS DOWN [spoiler]and no magazine in your gun[/spoiler]

Punisher24689 was an avid year 1 destiny player. He was there when Xur sold Gjallerhorn for the first time but thought why "spend strange coins on a stupid rocket launcher". His first love was The Last Word, "dude this thing makes me look like a -blam!-ing cowboy g'damn" and it remained a faithful firearm until the end. Problems started when he received a Fatebringer. It's outlaw perk led to quick reloads - and lots of them. He became a frequent reloader with other weapons, fearing paranoia of not having enough bullets to kill that one hunter who keeps blinking all over the place. He was able to manage Trials of Osiris well, using the Y-09 Longbow Synthesis to SNIPE THE -blam!- OUT OF THOSE REVIVES WHOO unfortunately he got into the habit after reloading only after one shot. Coming from an extensive Halo and Battlefield background, punisher had it ingrained in his mind to press the reload button after every kill or kills. Using quick reloading weapons helped but it wasn't enough from saving him running into a blueberry with an autorifle who filled his face with bullets. In one fateful Trials match, punisher faced two opponents with both his teammates down on the other side of the map. Quickly dispatching of one enemy and then hitting the other with his favorite sniper he was confident in a one hit kill with his Jewel of Osiris. We could say that hubris was his downfall, as he put one shot into he thought he would have gotten the kill and instinctively reloaded. He lost the match.
Literally haven't played in a year. I just really like these forums.

1 ReplyI'm taking a break from Destiny so I can play some games I never finished last year and I have a reloading problem as well. For instance in fallout 4 I have a shotgun that holds 36rds and I reload it after I shoot just 3. I can't help it. I also can't understand why it doesn't one shot an enemy across the map and why i can't shoulder charge a Death Claw.

"I reload too often and I have come to terms with who I am and am ready to fight for a new me." I'm in the same boat brother. It's not as bad as you though. I don't reload after shooting one bullet but I barely ever let my mag go to empty. If I have the speed reload perk on my gun then I use it and even then I don't use it a lot. I take maybe 6 or 7 shots then reload. I'm working on breaking that habit as well because I used to reload after a single bullet shot. It'll take time but with enough self motivation and determination I guarantee you will break it or at the very least cut it in half. It will just take time. Good luck OP.

2 RepliesMom left dad because he was a chronic reloader. I remember the day i came home from school and the bags were packed and by the front door. As we got in the cab i looked back at the front window,tear in my eye, just to see dad doing some weird enthusiastic dance 😔 Stop the constant reloading......think of the children.

1 ReplyBruh what you have is what I have, but the problem is if you don't reload you won't have the bullets for the next engagement if it so happens to be around that next corner. It's extremely situational, but I'd rather reload and have to quickly switch to a secondary then go pew pew click then have to quickly switch to the secondary mid firefight. Nothing sucks more then clicks when you pull the trigger.

Edited by Nizzy 303: 11/26/2016 11:42:53 AMI too used to have the reload monkey on my back. You can embrace it with Outlaw and Reactive Reload, or go cold turkey with Spray & Play. Fabian Stategy, Ace of Spaces, Bad JuJu and No Time To Explain are great examples of how to not reload. Say NO to X

1 ReplyIt sounds like a bad habit and you should try to think a lot more about your actions in pvp, like when you are about to reload instead of doing it then check to see if you actually need to reload. Think about your problem more, it helps. Maybe try using guns with large magasins, guns with reload perks etc. I know all about bad habits in video games, I spot people before I shoot them in battlefield 1.

I melee too much. When I miss my first shotgun I always melee instead of trying to get another shotgun off. It always gets me shotgunned by the person in my 1.

It's even worse with the jade rabbit/supercell/bad juju. You fire off 8-20 shots and go to reload only to find your only missing one shot....
