So basically you spent 2 hours non-stop collecting more engrams than you ought to know you could hold on you and at the Postmaster, tried to trick your way to keep what was at the Postmaster instead of just deleting all the blues and greens you didn't want, and ended up losing what you wanted. Now you to try to blame Bungie for your fvck up after apparently fixing something they should have long ago. And let me guess. You didn't want to leave when you started to get full because other players were there the whole time. Even though you could have left and just gone back to use a fused or enhanced offering solo or use methods other people have explained work for getting spawned in to an active offering with other people again.

  • Well ya it's a trick that I thought would work because it used to and 2 I was looking for a shell not a vigil so I kept my ghost inventory empty hoping for a drop after 2 hours of doing forge I decided to see what the post master had and that's when I saw the vigil. Granted I should have deleted items and could have collected the ingrams and deleted them I opted for the other method as collecting ingrams and deleting them is a hassel, but to my surprise bungie fixed it. What my point is, is why don't the items like the vigil drop as ingrams in the first place and second why is there no system of transfer when it comes to the post master. Believe me if this happened to you, you would be just as pissed.

  • Well that's the thing my friend if you were under the same impression that I was in regarding the method, whether or not you know better you honestly would have opted to do the same thing because you yourself would have believed it worked as I did.

  • Well the point was that I wouldn't be under that impression in the first place, because I would have deleted unwanted engrams first, or left long before 2 hours were wasted and just came back. I know the deal with engrams not being acquired if you don't go to orbit, but I've never considering using it intentionally, because that just seems irresponsible.

  • Well I guess different people think in different ways. And I guess it was a little irresponsible but do you think I deserved what I got? Do you think that a legendary item should be replaced by a blue ingram?

I think the system works as it should. Either things get pushed out or once the Postmaster is full, nothing else will go there, regardless of what it is. Many games do the same. Some others will let the items stay in place for a limited time, but it's still the responsibility of the player to get and manage them before they disappear. I don't think they can or if it's necessarily right for it to somehow understand that only legendaries and higher can't be deleted. Then you just get someone coming here complaining that they held onto 20 legendaries and their exotic didn't get sent to the postmaster, or they had 20 exotics and the ones they really wanted got pushed out for other legendaries and exotics. All because they didn't take any responsibility to manage their shit. I don't think the system can be designed nor should it self-manage for us. However I do agree that not being able to transfer from the Postmaster on the fly in any way is a problem that Bungie can and should deal with. But not likely gonna happen until Destiny 2.

It's called "common sense". Nothing special about it.
