Archon's Forge needs at least one thing changed, the event time out

Edit: I really don't understand the down votes, I knew the general community was generally against the well being of solo players, but this is a little ridiculous. If you are going to design the follow on to Court of Oryx to be Archon's Forge, it is a nice design in general and I do enjoy playing it. HOWEVER, there are things that NEED to change. Beyond the changes that the community have already cried for like stackable SIVA offerings, the little things matter the most. If I'm too lazy to LFG or pull friends into a fireteam to run Archon's Forge and I don't have a Perfected offering (read: it's either fused or enhanced) and I want to solo the public event, which is easy to do, I shouldn't have to worry about dying wasting any efforts of farming the offering and starting the event. Honestly... If I'm absolute and I try to duck around a corner only to find a silent exploding shank that was staring at the ceiling or floor is triggered and kills me, I should have enough time to respawn (5 seconds on the counter), get the splicer key into the kiosk, have the door open, and drop back into the arena with at least 15-20 seconds to spare before the event ends.... The timer is so short that the damned door doesnt even open fast enough to the point you can barely see the fallen before the encounter ends. Right now the encounter times out with no one in the arena at about 10-15 seconds.... Just boost that time out to 30 seconds and we are all good. Court of Oryx only gives you 20 seconds but you can walk right through the door (you respawn at about 11 seconds to return to the arena and can run through the door within 4-5 seconds leaving you 6-7 seconds to be slow at life and still continue the encounter). Also, if you fail in the court of oryx you keep your rune.... This issue of Bungie making it take too long to be able to spawn back in and open the door wouldnt be so bad and almost no-one would complain about it (looking at solo players that spawn into an empty Archon's Forge) if we were able to keep the SIVA charges if we fail... Fix this Bungie! P.s. I had a topic on this yesterday in feedback but some jackwagon down voted it into obscurity within minutes of the thread being created... his solution was "just don't die" which is fine and dandy but that's not a solution to the issue.

    If your solo in archons forge your walking in way too fast. Walk very slow up the stairs until you stay seeing xxxx is near in the bottom left. If that doesn't work and you get all the way to the top then go through the little passage in archons forge, get to the enemies kill 1 then walk back slowly into the forge and people WILL be there. It has NEVER not worked for me. Iv never been in there with less then 3 people, bungle should really explain this shit.

    • Nonsense. The only thing that is even remotely challenging is doing a perfected solo. So if you have a perfected just wait until you have one or two more players.

          • I agree the lockout is shit, but this while sound crappy, just don't do archons forge alone, I'm serious It's only worth grinding if you do it with randoms or friends Why just last night we had like 8 randoms all in one forge and we went through at the minimum 60 offerings I counted around 80 but who knows well round down for convinience Just don't do it solo, you literally do not have time after respawn to get in there and keep the forge going I've wasted a siva offering to test this, had a buddy wait in the room and start the door opening process right as I respawned it still deemed me unworthy when I was in the event So just don't do it solo

              I have friends to play with but I have gone to do archons forge solo and it takes almost no effort to re-matchmake to find a couple of blueberries to run with.

            • The biggest issues in AF for me are...still the matchmaking and Siva offerings! At least 15 times today I've walked (yes slowly) up the stairs or up for The Warrens and only 3 times have I found anyone in the forge, and then it was just someone waiting for another person with an offering. Those 3 times I had an offering so started an event but never got more than 4 runs in before we were standing around with no more offerings. And no, you can't go and find a Quarantine patrol because either there aren't any or they don't drop an offering anyway (this just happened to me so I don't know what Bungie 'patched'). I really don't understand why Bungie keep creating potentially good events and then make them so difficult to participate in.

            • It's fine the way it is, it's the only way for lone players to level up without having to do pvp or the raid so it needs left alone. Never do the forge alone unless you got a really low level offering.

              • For some reason some players are getting more siva offerings and others the RNG is bad, well for me the RNG of siva offerings is bad. I wish they would allow Xur to sell it and skeleton keys as well

                • I see your point so maybe be able to respawn on your own and get back in maybe, but the idea is still a team effort but I understand that concern. The one thing I feel needs adding is sudden death, as long as you are downing damage to the boss and not too much of a gap inbetween damage than don't count to zero, same goes for taken patrol events. Also high the person who started the event when their dead so the rest know they are of importance and not ressing because they can't.

                • I think the reason it has so many down votes is because the archons forge has massive experience ruining problems such as the fact that you can only carry one offering, the archons forge is in a different game world than the patrol you loaded into (which makes it incredibly rare to even find one other person). Also the fact that you can only join in in a fire team of 3 at most. The reason people down voted your post is because the problem you mentioned is extremely low priority compared to everything else, and should be treated as such.

                • Soloing enhanced/fused is easy. I was doing it at 340 light when RoI dropped. They do not need to fix this, if you're soloing, you should be punished for dying. I soloed a streak of about 10 offerings, with no trouble. Also, you can't complain about being to lazy to find people to do it with, because if you just crouch walk up the tunnel, you get matched with a group (almost) every time.

                • Honestly there's only 2 things that need changed in Archon's Forge: 1. Revive priority over axes. It is horrid how many times people can be forced into reviving themselves because they get stuck in an axe trap and can never be revived (Pick-up range for axe is pretty decent so if they die with an axe and you're holding an axe and try to rez, you'll keep picking up axes). 2. Exploder shanks shouldn't explode when killed with an axe regardless of whether or not its flaming. Maybe its just me but nothing is more annoying then taking out of group of enemies with your axe at 30-40 charge and magically the exploder shank pops up behind you for a peekaboo and your auto lock melee bashes its brains in only to die of guilt and debris.

                  • You can solo everything but perfected offerings, although the perfected dreg offering may be soloable.... I'll pop an offering solo, and usually people turn up half way through.... Use a scout, jump up onto one of the forges on the left or right side, and pick everything off....

                    • Hit the nail on the head. When trying to solo something in the Forge after waiting for no one to show up it gets frustrating when you get shut down by a rogue exploding shank or Captain punch. The only thing I think you left out is the fact that in Court of Oryx, if you failed an activity it refunded you the token so you could try again. The Forge does not. So after an impossible timer to come back to the activity runs out (costing you the Siva Offering AND the Splicer Key you used to try to get back) you cry. The Forge could be great. Really great. It needs a spawn point, stackable offerings (even one of each damn type), a longer "Retry" timer, and the refundable option would be excellent. On a side note, I'd love for a place to either turn in all the Court tokens or burn them for rep. Now they just sit there because I know the minute I destroy them Bungie will give us a method to use them.

                      • As a solo player, anything to make the game more accessible to me is fine by me. Obviously most people (especially non solo players) will disagree, but oh well. It's human nature to want everything to suit yourself best as possible. Give me some nightfall matchmaking too please...
