Yeah, let's give Warlocks another ability from a different class. Cause ya know, they don't already have enough of those.

  • So one ability that didn't originally come from warlocks is a lot? You said it like bungie recycles abilities from other classes and just passes them to warlocks...you do know it's the other way around right?

  • From my perspective its that every class is guilty of this. we just don't need any more. Also, while debatable, landfall feels and does what fist of havoc does, but FoH is better. Also claws grant double melee like Gunslinger. Not wanting to hate on Warlocks, but classes should stop getting other classes abilities. Titan, Warlock, and Hunter alike. No double grenade, angel of light, twilight garrison, double melee. Thinking about life without these feel naked, but it was originally made the three subclasses unique.

  • So you're under the impression that each class should have all unique abilities right? Well every guardian is empowered by the same light, therefore learning abilities from other classes is like learning to walk. At the same time, there are abilities other classes cannot learn and there are some they can only perform using a certain element. It makes sense that there a lot of copied abilities while there are also a good amount of unique abilities. Titans are brute force but warlocks are capable of this. Hunters are agile and smooth but titans can be too. Warlocks are very close to magic but hunters can approach a more magical side also.

  • If we take the same light empowerment idea further, why not give hunters shoulder charge too? Or Titans self res? I think it would be funny to see a small hunter try slamming into an enemy and bouncing off

  • Well i think it also has to do with the same laws of "either you're born with it or not" kinda like some guardians are born having the potential to be a specific guardian rather than they get their ghost and then they decide which class to be. There's evidence of this in lore. I mean, if I'm a hunter and i get bullied my entire life for it and I'm an ordinary weak minded guy couldn't i just become a titan instead? For reasons unknown, no. Lol would be enjoyable watching a titan self res though

  • I personally wouldn't mind every class having every subclass at their disposal, yeah it wouldn't fit with lore (was never really that into the lore anyways) but it could create more diversity among guardians and it would allow bungie to reuse the same classes instead of making new ones (cause money). I have always liked MMO's that give every player the same chance to learn every ability rather than being restricted to a certain set of skills, at that point you really do feel like the character is you once you build it entirely yourself instead of having preselected choices that everyone who picked the same class as you will have.

  • I agree with what you're saying. But this is where I stop. The lore in destiny does not match with what is seen in game. There are examples to this that happen every day. Titans are the strongest. Well how home a Warlock with the Ram is stronger? Hunter's are the fastest and most agile. How come Titans are exponentially faster and even with Twilight be even more agile? Why does the Warlock nova bomb not set off a supernova-like explosion? You have the lore that tells us these Guardians and their supers are capable of so much, yet when in game, are capable of no where near what we are told they are capable of. That's why I don't take lore seriously, because it doesn't add up in game.

  • Yes this is very true and I honestly agree with you except for your examples. The ram, is obviously a magically enchanted item from who knows where. The titan thing is possibly more unintended but it adds up. I mean hunters have no real notable reason they should be the fastest other than they are agile. They do run the fastest but titan speed comes from a manipulation of their lift ability to take the upward momentum and turn it into forward momentum by hovering and traveling in a line rather than up. To me, it's plausible and their are instances of "ironically fast titans" in lore also. Back to the point i do agree with lore not being a factor in game.

  • I love people like you. Willing to agree and disagree, rather than only selectively reading what they want and spewing bigotry. Good on you. Keep doing you.

  • I've been here since the alpha so I've seen and heard a lot lol i try to make sense of both sides though sometimes it's hard. I think sometimes people should dig deeper into an opinion before they decide how they feel completely and there's nothing wrong with understanding both sides.

  • Agreed, been here since Beta and I'm pretty involved on the game according to stats and balance. I do most of my reading on weapon statistics, what should and shouldn't be. So seeing other classes get really good abilities from another subclass kind of triggers me lol. I play a lot of PvP and so I do a lot of my Destiny studies on weapons. When seeing the Shinobu's Vow and Ophidian Aspects, I honestly began to wonder where Bungie's brain went.

  • I've come to the conclusion bungie doesn't think much lol i can relate about getting annoyed about borrowed abilities but i try to make sense of it although it could just be bungie don't care they're just running out of ideas

  • Titans have angel of light, and technically having a second grenade is a warlock perk. Sunsinger, gift of the sun.

  • They're just as guilty. You're right. Never was I debating one side. Other classes getting other classes abilities honestly make them less special, ruining the reason to use other classes.

  • The gift of the sun and second grenade Perk I don't agree with, hunters have the ahamkara grasp for 2 smokes and Shinobu vow for 2 nades as well, did they copy warlocks?

  • Hunters got those with the Taken King. So I'd say they are warlock perks. And to those saying 2 melee is a gunslinger perk, I'm pretty sure the Claws of Ahamkara are a year 1 exotic meaning it's both.

  • No. That's what I'm saying. It doesn't matter if it's another classes perk. It would still make a cool exotic. But only if there's a few exotics like that. I don't want an exotic that turns me into a Titan.

Bladedancers learned blink from warlocks while Titans and hunters learned how to hunt Ahamkara from warlocks but only warlocks can fight and kill full grown adult Ahamkara. Stfu
