  • Hello, I posted this a few days ago. We are on top of it. Just took way too long. But thank you very much for being somebody who actually wants to help. Almost everyone of these jokers keep coming in here running their mouths not knowing the first thing and being quite unpleasant for people claiming "to help". Long story short, bunch of people, small minority against the whole of the community, have a corrupt file download issue. Took us beating the forums for over 24 hours to get the issue noticed. We keeping getting drowned out by the sissy who didn't have their Gjallarwings waiting in the mailbox, so it took some serious work to spread out and gather enough people to generate the needed trend. But Bungie has finally acknowledged it and is working on it, but many of us are finding solutions by working together and I'm at 10 GB now. Dude it's been hell if you want to know... This corrupt error is just the actual name of the error code it produces. But what's happening is a small portion of the community can't download the 1.28 patch, it keeps freezing at the beginning of the download and failing. It's a very specific and exact problem that effects everyone in the same exact way. This we started finding out as the first few dozen of us gathered. 230.9 MB was where it froze for everyone. Exactly that spot. Bungie said wipe your system, when that didn't work, call Sony. Sony said it was Bungie. ISP wouldn't do anything because Bungie was the only thing that didn't work. We all could play any other game or do whatever we wanted. Top speeds, Netflix, stream, surf net, anything and everything was tip top but Destiny. And only Destiny. We got bounced around for 2 days like that. Everybody else was playing but we were being ignored and bounced around and we had nothing. Not even Vanilla Destiny. It was all locked by this download error. After 2 days and we are all going mad, we discover we all had Mediacom for an ISP. We've been hounding then and Bungie last 2 days and Somy filed suite to Bungie to fix this, but we've went to other ISP's if we can and are getting around it. But not everyone can access another ISP. And last I knew, some people still can't download, even on another ISP... It's a sucky situation to be in, and even worse, these forums are full of losers with nothing better to do than try and antagonize these people trying to get help. Sick and sad people who delight in others misfortune. Oh well, their choice I suppose. Anyways I'm one of the lucky ones to get around on another ISP, I need sleep and work tomorrow. You know, the udusl

  • Bungie may have been aware earlier, but didn't want to comment until the problem was at least identified. A bit shady, yes, but hardly unheard of in the industry. Hopefully things get sorted.

  • The timing couldn't be worse. And this is a very very particular bug that is a troubleshooter's dream. I performed over 200 tests myself. It's exactly the same every time. It can't get any better than that. But yes I hope it's sorted soon as well. 😬
