In Destiny 2, every exotic/special legendary (like raid legendaries) weapons and armor should have a lore node. The node takes you to a screen with locked lore panels. When you find the corresponding Dead Ghost or fragment etc, you get a notification saying lore unlocked for "weapon/armor name" which you can go and read by clicking on the weapon/armors lore node. I mean, it would take a good amount of time to go through every weapon and armor piece to implement this... But it's so simple and would be really awesome. If you wanted to expand on this idea, maybe implement little side mission things with the lore nodes so you can replay something related to the weapon/armor. Like The Last Word vs Thorn battle
