Clearly you don't know the main use of a sidearm. In real life and in Destiny. You're not meant to run around trying to kill enemies with just the sidearm. You use your Primary initially, but if the enemy gets in close, you switch to your sidearm to finish him/her off. This is why I look for sidearms with quickdraw, for that quick weapon swap. Coupled with a Primary that has single point sling, and you have an awesome weapon combo. This is also where the exotic perk of the Trespasser comes into play. If you kill the first enemy and reload, then realize you've got another one in close range, that longer burst shot helps you get the edge.

Sidearms are perfect for jumping around a corner at a weak opponent and cleaning them up after they are weak from your primary weapon. That's how you're supposed to used them imo

VERY similar to the situation I pointed out in my comment. Enemy weakened by your primary and is now in a close quarters scenario. This is where sidearms shine. I guarantee the people who are whining that sidearms suck are running around, using them like a primary.
