Edit: Then when I went to make this post all of the hashtags in the post that appeared in the image above showed right up as soon as I pressed on the create thread button.

This has been happening to me a lot lately. When I hit back in the upper left (in the app itself) it will go to a list of threads of the user whose one you were looking at. You shouldn't see this problem if you use the phone's back button instead.
