Importance of Music in Games

I have three questions. You may answer only the ones you care to answer, or all of them. Firstly, how important is music in videogames to you? Does it not matter, is it a nice icing on the cake, is it a pretty big deal but ultimately unnecessary, or does it make or break a game for you? Secondly, let's say you hear a song that blows you away and you absolutely love it, whether it's exciting, dramatic, chilling, emotional or beautiful. However, you've either never seen gameplay from the game it's from, or you have and weren't interested in it. Does that amazing music you heard make you want to love the game, or want to try it? And lastly, what are some games with incredible music? Are those games some of your favorite, or do you simply enjoy the music? Do you feel the music changed your view on those games? Maybe share a specific song?

 • WARNING: Text wall! The music in videogames makes the atmossphere! If its a silent soundtrack for a cave or special place, a loud energetic for a fight, or just full of emotions for a heart-breaking scene. Without the music, something would be missing Only Instrumental: I love soundtracks like 'Gluttony Fang' from BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend. A mix between piano and electro-guitar for one of the best antagonists if have ever seen. Or 'I'll face myself' from Persona 4, where you fight your own shadow. The side of you, you want to hide from everyone. 'Gerudo Valley' and 'Song of Storms' from The Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time... do I have to say more about those? Instrumental & Vocal 'Lost in thoughts all alone' from Fire Emblem Fates. A track that has different meanings depending on the path your Fate will guide you. 'Dragonborn' from Skyrim, I dont know what to say about that... I'll just love it. I could continue this for days, because Soundtrack are the one thing that makes me play a game for hundreds of hours. To hear a track that only appears once in a game, I would play it again, even if it takes me several hundreds of hours! You have my greatest thanks if you read the whole text and I hope you enjoyed it ^_^ If you want write some of your favourite songs down I would love to hear them ;-)
