A loud stomping was heard nearby, drowning out any other smaller sounds. If the Astartes was familiar with them, he might recognize this to be due to the stomping coming from a dreadnought. If not, he would find out.

In between each heavy stomp of the Dreadnought, a set of softer footsteps was heard. And, instead of metal clanking against metal, it was more the thudding of heavy grade boots, like that of the Imperial Guard. Only, it was much too heavy. Probably a Space Marine, then.

  • "Hmmm...." The Astartes recognized the noise, and honed in on it with his Psychic gifts. With his Witchsight, he saw the spirit of a man and a machine, a bond only a Dreadnought could share. "A Dreadnought..." Such warriors were rarer than most, and because of this, Domicious would treat the old soldier with respect only given to few by the Grey Knight. He then honed in onto the other set of footsteps. An Astartes. A Black Templar. He surfed through the Crusader's mind and memories, confirming his suspicions. He made his way to the two warriors, more relaxed, but still ready to jump into combat at a moments notice.

  • The Dreadnought stopped soon after seeing the Astartes, only approaching him further so he could hear the man. "HMM..." The chassis bore multiple purity seals, and a ribbon-like design on the sarcophagus, with "Virtus" in black text on it. "HELLO, BATTLE BROTHER."

The Crusader nodded with a simple, "Hello, Battle-Brother," While his sky blue eyes glanced over the former Grey Knight's armour, another respectful nod coming from the Templar as he spoke again, "It is an honour.'

  • "I share the same affection for you and your Venerable comrade." He nodded. "It is reassuring to find other Astartes in this crucible. My name is Domicious, a Grey Knight of the First Brotherhood seconded into Deathwatch, and a Deathwatch Champion." His many titles and commemorates were backed up by the many purity seals that accompanied his armor. He returned the respectful nod.

"IT IS INDEED AN HONOR." The Dreadnought was quiet for a few seconds before speaking again. "YOU ARE OF THE GREY KNIGHTS, AND DEATHWATCH, YOU SAY? I DO BELIEVE THAT IS A RARITY MANY WILL NEVER WITNESS."

  • Domicious nodded, and chuckled under his breath. "Yes, well..." He paused, recalling what he said to the kind man who looked over him. "Yes, the Grey Knights are tasked with the hunting of Daemonic threats. But, after you've slain enough, it begins to get monotonous. They say the same things, have the same strategies. I've already beaten them before a single shot was fired. So, my luck turned around, and my valor got me into Deathwatch. Fortunately, there is a lot more variety when I comes to Aliens. Orks, Tyranids, Necrons... Each battle challenged me more than my previous Chapter ever could. I enjoy a challenge."

  • "HMM. I SEE. I ENJOY A CHALLENGE AS WELL, AND THIS PLACE SEEMS LIKE IT HAS MANY. HOWEVER, I HAVE NOT ENCOUNTERED ANYTHING CHALLENGING AS OF YET."

  • "Indeed. Although, let us not allow our thirst for combat overcome our senses. We need to find out where we are, and what we're in for. It appears by the architecture that we seem to be in a place of Daemonic origin. Makes sense, I've felt the same sensation I always feel when I face Daemons ever since I've been here. Gnarled fingers trying to pry open my mind. They fail, but they don't stop. Like a beast scratching at a door it knows it cannot breach."

  • "'Tis sad, indeed. I've already had the pleasure of more than welcoming people, those who can be crushed by a simple Lesser Daemon. We must do what we can to protect any one of them we come across on our trek. So, anything your other comrade has to say?" The Grey Knight looked over to the other Astartes, expecting a response.
Enter Wehb. Sorry, going to bed.
The second Black Templar looked back at the Grey Knight as he spoke up from his fairly long break of speaking, his Bolter lowered at his side while he spoke with a powerful and clear voice, like a river that flows through the mighty slumbering beasts we call mountains, "I'm sorry for my silence, Battle-Brothers.. I was simply lost deep in thought; you have my sincerest apologies. And, I must agree: we should protect all those we can, and slay every possible threat to the mighty Imperium and the glorious God-Emperor of Man."

  • "Indeed..." Domicious agreed begrudgingly. Of course the Templars practice in worship of the God Emperor. But what was scary about Domicious is the fact that he's a Grey Knight, and yet he didn't worship the Emperor. No, Domicious rather saw the Emperor as a great military commander and leader, now a rotting corpse that should be put out of his misery. He pushed the thoughts of common sense deep into the back of his mind. They were considered heretical, and he wanted to have allies. And these allies would most likely not tolerate NOT worshiping the Emperor as a god. So, the Grey Knight said no more.

  • "IF PROTECTING PEOPLE IS NOW OUR GOAL, THEN WE SHOULD GET TO IT. HOWEVER, IF YIU COULD SHED SOME LIGHT, THAT WOULD BE GREAT, KNIGHT."
