Another person who doesn't understand the term "series..."
BB is not part of the Souls series, I don't know why people just don't get that...
Similar? Yes. Same series? No.
To answer the question though:

FromSoftware themselves confirmed they put it under the same series. Plus Patches is a consistency in all games. Besides, Demon is a different word than Dark and they aren't the same world. I end my case with the series title, Soulsborne. Even if they aren't the same worlds, they can exist as parallel universes; each does its own thing, but is very similar and share many connections.

Fromsoft themselves consider Demon Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne part of a series. Soulsborne is the name that fans have given it but there is not technically a true name for the series. We may see one in the next iteration but Soulsborne is all we have right now.

Your logic is very flawed. Destiny and CoD can arguably use the same algorythm... Demon's is an alternate plane to that of Dark. Both are in the same universe if you will. Souls and BB are not even in the same time period! You are trying to say a tangerine is an orange. Close, but not the same thing.

It's just as much of a spiritual successor as Dark souls was to demon souls. It's really not something to get mad over.

I'm not, but BB has nothing to work off from Souls. Artwork and that's about it. Combat, lore, story, etc have nothing in common. It's like saying Destiny is a successor to Halo. Same creator, same graphics, but everything else is different. Besides, Demon's was explained as being a sub dimension in the core Souls series. If there was more to link them, then maybe, but they are in completely different time periods...

No argument about the lore story and all of that jazz, but the combat is pretty close. You've got some big differences sure but you can tell its Miyazaki behind it, and that BB wouldn't be here if not for the souls games.

Neither would Destiny. I know combat is close, but speed/style are way off. Besides, I don't think they are done with BB yet. Sony owns a long contract to it... If there is a sequel, then there is no argument to being its own series. Right now it's like Destiny to Halo, same concept but different games.

I agree if there are more in the series we will need to distinguish between the two. After all I'm sure if there is a BB 3 it will be much different than the first game just like how DKS 3 is from 1.
