As controversial as an answer, I have to say Halo: CEA. People on b.net always seemed to clamor on about Halo 1 being such a great game. Honestly, I hated the gameplay aspect. It's just horribly unbalanced and unenjoyable for me. It was even worse when I got to play halo 1 multiplayer with MCC. Literally touching a warthog moving at 0.00001 mph kills you. Spawns are also really terrible, especially on Derelict, which revolves into spawnkililng the enemy to death or being spawnkilled yourself.

Did you play it when it was new? Or years later when it was dated. If you did when it was released what game at the time would you say was better?

About the maps Map making rules were a lot different back in the day. Take Dust from counter strike. One of the sites is on the CT spawn Or how about Wizard. It's very small compared to current maps like Complex. There's a designated sniper position for each side. The teleporters can be abused

I absolutely agree. Halo: Combat Evolved is not at all as great as people make it out to be. In my opinion, at least.

I feel like I'm the exact opposite of most people here. Whereas most people praise halo 1 and diss on halo 2, I love halo 2 way more than the first game.

Honestly, CE is my least favorite Halo game. Halo 2 was a tremendous step up in every regard.
