It's a mix. Half of my relatives live in Louisiana, so I travel there at least once or twice a year. Some people can be nice hardworking people, others can be absolute a**holes. It was the same experience from when I lived in San Antonio, Savannah, Duluth GA, Asheville NC, Cleveland OH, and Miami (though Miami was the worst of all of them).

From my experience when I helped out with the ELCA clean ups... your dead on the money, I never thought I would see people try and steal from volunteers that paid to come and help out the city

No, I actually saw a few of the ELCA kids get their wallets stolen when they went to a restaurant and the hotel workers... let's just say I got my money back after I caught them on camera going though my bags
