Honor of a Captain part 22

Welcome, fellow Guardians or Eliksni.... SO sorry for my lack of content, currently my life is INSANE and I just can't keep up :/ I However for Rise of Iron I find it fitting to release new parts... So here it is!!! (DISCLAIMER) This will NOT be the last part of THOAC.... more will come just be patient X) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Killing things was easy, stealth, not so much. I leaned forward on my haunches as my lower set of arms pushed the bush in front of me apart. Being taken for so long has proved to make me lose my skills as an assassin. And stalking three dangerous targets forged with the Great Machine's light, was no easy undertaking. I glanced back at the four vandals Oryx entrusted into my command. ~when the fight gets real, there going to turn real useless~ After having experience as a Captain, and now Kell, I've learned that foot soldiers can be useless at times. Looking forward over the cliff again, I observed my three targets. One was heavily armored with a rocket launcher slung over his back. He turned to face the other 'Guardians' and I got a good look at the launcher he was carrying. Gold ornaments were encrusted all over the weapon. A wolf head prominently took center stage at the top of the rocket launcher. Another Guardian had a long hooded cloak flapping in the wind and blades hooked to his belt. The last one had long robes that touched the floor with a gold winged helmet. They looked intimidating, but not enough to scare me. I leaned back from the bush and waved my hand forward, signaling the vandals to follow once I make my move. I stood up and breathed heavily. ~go time~ As I prepared to jump, the cliff side lit up with fire as it crumbled down the slope. The blast from the explosion sent me and my vandals flying. The Guardians had spotted our position, but how? I landed on my feet, shock blades unsheathed and hungry for blood. My eyes met my enemies and my scar shone bright, predicting the bloodshed that was to come. The Guardian with the robes slung his rifle over his back and with his hands created a ball of magic. The two other two Guardians scrambled for cover and I made my move. I lunged at the cloaked Guardian and swung my swords around my body making a full revolution. He somersaulted backwards and avoided the edge of my sword barely. Looking to my right, the Guardian shot the magic orb with a flick of his wrist. I rolled to my right but the orb tracked and exploded on impact. I was knocked off my feet and I landed on my back. Black engulfed me and Oryx transported me behind the robed opposer. I went for a stab and the Guardian tried to jump out of the way. My sword missed its mark and instead stabbed him through his shin. Screaming out of pain, he fell to the ground wounded and I focused on another target. I looked for the closest target. The cloaked Guardian was the closest. I blinked four times in a zig-zag motion to throw him off. He frantically pulled his shotgun out and shot in my general direction. On my fifth blink I felt a sharp pain in my belly. ~hit me~ I thought. I got in front of him and slashed in the direction of his neck. Blood flew from the sword's mark and the Guardian dropped lifelessly. I turned slowly and the last enemy was crouched over the wounded one, checking his vitals. I strode forward until I was in front of him. He picked up his weapon but was slow. I went for a stab and the sword appeared on the other side, blood following. He fell on his knees. I yanked my sword free and he dropped dead. I looked next to him at the wounded one. He too was dead. I was the victor. My scar hummed and glowed brighter than ever before. It was good to be back. Chapter 32 Shadows passed, dancing in front of my eyes and a roar of anger shook my head. The roar, was Oryx....and his anger was of not getting revenge over his dead son. Crota. (Loosely translated) "I'm sorry my son, I have failed. The warriors of infused light were not to escape my wrath. But now, as I die, I regret......regret failing. Rest now, o son.....as will I" As Oryx took his last breath, so did i.
