Easy Exotic Shard Farming Method

So I am pretty sure this has already been stated, however I just wanted to tell the community a quick and easy way of farming Exotic Shards. They are among the rarest of materials to acquire in the world of Destiny at the moment, so can't hurt to know. Here is what you will need, an Exotic Shard, 5 Weapon Parts, 10 Motes, 2,500 Glimmer. The conversion is basically 1 Exotic Shard + 5 Weapon Parts + 10 Motes + 2,500 Glimmer = 2 Exotic Shards. Here is the process: Step 1: Head to the Gunsmith, buy a Heavy Weapon Telemetry for 5 Weapon Parts. Step 2: Head down to Exotic Weapon Blueprints by the Vanguard, purchase a year 1 Dragon's Breath. Step 3: Apply the Heavy Weapon Telemetry, equip the year 1 Dragon's Breath, put 10 Motes into it, this will unlock all the upgrades. Step 4: Dismantle it, the end result is 2 Exotic Shards + 7 Weapons Parts + 270-300 Glimmer. When you unlock all the upgrades of a piece of armour or weapon in Destiny and dismantle it you get 2 exotic shards instead of 1, or for a Legendary you get 5 Legendary Marks instead of 3. You can repeat the process as many times as you want , you are basically handing in Weapon Parts and Motes for Exotic Shards. Sure it is easier buying it from Xur *cough* Bungie please *cough*, however we don't have that luxury, so this is a little tip for all you people out there that may not know about this. This works out well if you do it in bulk, I normally do it with 10 Dragon's Breath's at a time, totalling to a gain of 10 Exotic Shards. You will be needing alot of glimmer for this, a simple glimmer farm is to go to the mission "Exclusion Zone" on Mars, set it to heroic, pop a Resupply Codes buff for extra glimmer of Cabal, run out ignore the first ship, kill the 9 majors that spawn on the second ship, wipe, rinse and repeat. Hope this helps, any questions, leave them in the comments I will try get back to you with an answer.

  • Or you could've played in year one and not have gotten gjallarhorn until extremely late like me. In all serious though, just keep popping 3oC and you win.
