Why would it not be a fusion? We have white fusion rifles that don't have a burn. At least you used to get them.

Because if it's a bullet coming out and not energy, it isn't a fusion rifle. lol. Has nothing to do with burns.

Still charges up energy, but instead of the energy bolts being fired outright the energy is then transferred through the weapon to where the shells are stored and fires those instead.

So it would just be a scorch cannon type weapon that fires bullets or "bolts" then?

Scorch cannon is more of a fire, then hold the charge to make a bigger explosion, I think it is still pure solar energy and not an actual shell. Fusion rifles also fire the bolt of elemental energy that that is charged in the main housing of the weapon and release through the barrel, but it is still just energy. This on the other hand take the store energy that is just energy in itself, releases it to cause a reaction which cause the shells to fire rapidly out of the barrel.
