They said over 100 combinations, but that perk tree doesn't resemble that...
Maybe the available perks to choose from change based on the fire mode you select.

What do you mean? The first tree has a fully automatic mode and then it has burst and single shot modes I presume by the emblems

Yes, that's correct. And then there are perks after those. The author of the game informer article said it had over 100 perk combinations. I think the perks change based on whether you select full auto, burst, or semi auto.
