And cue the ninjas with Bungie's "protect the cheater" policy and ban the whistle blower instead. Bring back the Whambulence in the weekly updates Bungie. It'd solve alot of problems.

Years ago, back before Bungie left MS to have that Activision collar Bungie used to have on Fridays the "Bungie Weekly Update" (now it's on Thursday). In this update during the run of Halo 3 and to a lesser extent Reach Bungie introduced the Whambulence. It was a section where Bungie answered messages from players who claim they were unfairly (HA!) banned and we're trying to get the ban lifted. What followed was the old Bungie snark in the form of the revealing evidence against the idiot in question and a sort of smartass "you get nothing, you lose, good day air" from the Bungie person. It was all in good sport, cheaters got poked fun at, legit players got a good laugh, and Bungie kept the game good. That all disappeared for some reason, but I have a sinking suspicion that Activision is to blame. When in doubt, blame Activision. It used to be just to blame Stosh...

  • If I remember - it was a section in the old newsletter where Bungie actually listed the people who received an infraction and where dealt with accordingly... banned or hit with a restriction. (Astartes Marine - am I remembering this correct?) Sadly that was the old Bungie and the old forums - neither of which are what we have today.

  • You know they might have listed the names. It's been so long that the memory's a bit fuzzy. I tried looking for some examples but I'd probably have to look in some Internet archive of old Web pages.

  • I'm definitely right there with you on the memory's a bit fuzzy part.. LOL. Seriously, I think it would do this forum some good if Bungie started dealing with cheaters as harshly as they once did.. ** sigh **
