I remember it took construction workers [i]five months[/i] to pave maybe 1,000 feet of the road right in front of our house (a relatively small suburban street. They also decided to do it when K-12 school was still in session meaning there were frequent interruptions and delays, and they [i]also[/i] decided not to put a sign up when they finally started pouring the first layer of stuff down, which resulted in at least one car whose tires got covered in about half an inch of tar.
