Should I Buy Elder Scrolls Online?

Yes

No

I'm a big Elder Scrolls fan, ever since I played Oblivion back in 2012. I'm also a fan of online gaming. So is ESO worth it? It's 15 bucks at Gamestop so it seems like a steal.

  • I'd say yes but don't get your hopes up too much, it is a good game but it gets really stale when you're playing solo

  • It's actually a really fun mmo with lots of content. Definitely not skyrim online like so many people expected that's why so many people give it shit. It's really fun tho and for $15 I'd definitely give it a try

  • For 15$ it's definitely worth a shot. It seems people either love, or hate it. Usually with games like that, that take a lot of time and investment, there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. It's not a game you can just jump into for a few rounds and get your fix and call it good. If you plan on sinking some time into it you will probably enjoy it. If not, it'll probably collect dust after a few goes. Maybe rent it first or look at some "let's plays"

  • For the price it is yes go for it Just don't expect skyrim online or elder scrolls either It's a basic mmo set in the elder scrolls universe

  • It depends what you want out of it. If you want multiplayer Skyrim then no. If you're okay with the fact the game is an MMO first, it just takes place in the Elder Scrolls universe, then you'll probably enjoy it.

  • Don't expect skyrim or oblivion out of it because you'll be severely disappointed, but treat it as an mmo and you should like it. But at $15 it seems worth it

  • Definitely for $15 You will be pouring more money into for DLCs, but that's just like any other MMORPG

  • For 15 bucks? Hell yeah! Tons of content; despite what people say it's very enjoyable and keeps SOME elder scrolls aspects as well. Don't expect a classic scrolls game though. It's very much an mmo

  • By online gaming, if you mean like mmo games, then yes. ESO comes with all the mmo tropes though, including a premium currency, and lots of grinding.

  • Just like most MMORPGs, it's a boring repetitive slog. This time with an Elder scrolls paint job. Whilst I feel like you won't like it, 15 dollars is a justifiable price, even if you just try it.

  • If mmo's are your thing then sure. I didn't like it but I don't like mmo's in general. My friends do like that genre all generally liked it....

Get it. It's in a good place currently, and that $15 will leave you room to maybe grab some crowns for one of the 3 DLC. I recommend the Dark Brotherhood DLC, you get the blade of woe (classic shit hah), but not as a weapon. It's more of an ability, as long as you're sneaking you can assassinate people. Edit - be warned about the gameplay, it isn't like other ES games. It's an MMO, plays like one. Still fun, and it's the same large ES universe. You'll travel to many different countries and see all the races, it was actually quite refreshing.

  • It's like a whole whole lot of the same thing. Could be fun with friends. Not sure on single player. I played for awhile but it's kind of so so

      • ESO is worth $15. I bought it maybe 10 months ago for $15 bucks and I'm still playing it to this day. Absolutely fun with friends and guildies. One thing that is worth noting, it seems every time they add a dlc to the game, they break certain aspects of the game only to fix them later, most notably the group finder tool. It was working perfectly then dark brotherhood came out and jacked it all up.

      • If you're getting it expecting a regular elder scrolls game, you'll be disappointed It's an MMORPG, not a regular RPG

        • If you wanna play an MMORPG that's boring and repetitive with graphics that look like they're straight out of the ps2 era, then yes get it

          • If you have friends to play with, then most definitely; you really will have some good times messing about in Tamriel like I did with my mates months back (sold it tho as they moved on to different games). However, if you're playing solo, I wouldn't bother as the game is basically like a chore without someone, and you can't really do some of the content.
