How is this? It is on four (soon to be two) platforms and brings in way more revenue than Halo 5.

  • Halo 5 is better than Destiny in both updates and gameplay, although if you disagree please state your reason why Destiny is better than Halo 5

  • Oh yeah that's true, but I was talking more on Gameplay and overall how the developer treats their fans and community

The gameplay is your opinion. Not saying I disagree, it just can't be argued for nor against. Both 343 and Bungie communicate with their fans a lot more than other devs.

  • Ok, but on Updates and DLC, (imo) 343i does a better job than Bungie. Where as Bungie charges for DLC every few months, 343i peovides monthly updates for free

Bungie's expansions have more content than 343's updates.

No, it was never advertised to be in the original game. Destiny's base game actually had a lot of content. Four big unique planets which together hosted a lot of missions, two to three Strikes per planet, tons of guns, six unique skill trees, and a huge Raid level with its own area. The quality of all of this is up to your opinion but it did have a lot of content. The point of that was to set a base so I can tell you how Bungie built all of this and a shit load of lore from the ground up. They didn't have the time to get all of that and three expansions worth of content in for the release date. 343 had to build a bunch of mechanics and gameplay to build with all the new mechanics also but Bungie had their work cut out for them and these expansions were not meant to make it is at launch.

Destiny did have a good amount of content to keep you going. It's just after finishing said content, all you did was to repeat it over and over again to get good weapons.

  • And a lot of people didn't know or like that Destiny was going to be like that.

Yeah, which is why people started having the delusion that Destiny didn't have a sufficient amount of content

Actually, check the 2013 old vidocs they made, you'll see tons of stuff that was sold as DLC that was finished by then. In fact, the 2013 E3 trailer shows glimpse of House of Wolves Content.

  • I said glimpse of content and its second of it. The Mercury scene is from when you get flawless in Trials and go to the lighthouse. There is also a second where they show The Reef finished. I'm not sure if this is part of House of Wolves but you can clearly see them fighting fallen inside the wall in the same place the DLC took place. Hard to tell because they are not blue. You can also see Saturn especially the asteroids in the ring but not the Dreadnaught. I think the part where you see the Ogre slamming the floor is the Dreadnaught because of how it looks but I'm also not sure. I'm going to speculate that the small scene with the Queen's Brother will probably be in Rise of Iron of he is not dead. Point is, there's a lot of content in the Trailer and Vidoc that was cut and either sold as DLC or is still waiting to be sold.

  • I'm not sure any of that was even close to being finished. The Outpost and Saturn are probably both concept art (especially Saturn). Either way, even if they had an area finished (Outpost) that doesn't mean they had Prison, the story line, or anything else that came in that update finished.

  • Thats denial on your part. Concept art is art not 3D images with fully rendered lightning and color. Those assets were done by that time. At most they were going through alpha testing.

So they had a social area "finished" (more like constructed) we think. That does not mean the rest of the content was ready. The part which showed Saturn and the Dreadnaught could easily have just been concept art.

Except concept art looks totally different than fully rendered 3D scenery. We're talking about content that was finished by 2013 and for a game that was pushed back to late 2014. I remember reading that TTK was going to be part of the full game as well. I might have to look for the source again.

I say again, just because they have a model or area constructed does not mean the rest of the content to go with it was finished. We were never promised anything.

  • In one of the vidocs, not sure if I linked it, the mentioned Saturn was going to be part of the game. There are a lot of vidocs about the game and if you pay close attention, you may see a lot of stuff that isn't in the game yet or that made it as DLC.

  • I'm going to play hardcore devil's advocate here. They may not have had enough time to develop all of that. They were making the rest of Destiny base from the ground up.

    >5-7 years >not enough time Sorry but a company like Bioware has had far less time to develop a game and has put out twice more content. You can play whatever role you want but the facts are there. In fact, people broke into areas that were later intended as DLC. If that doesn't prove anything to you, I don't know what will.
