Your first Lucid dream experience

Have you ever lucid dreamed? If yes, tell your first time. Here's mine. I kept saying to myself as I went to sleep "I'm going to lucid dream" over and over. I fell asleep, and I went through a normal day at school, in my lucid dream. Then, my alarm went off, and everything changed to my room. I saw myself sleeping in the bed. I tried to wake myself up (not my real self, the one sleeping in my dream) as it was the thing keeping me from awaking up. I then started screaming, and making my head bigger. It then got so big, and I screamed that much, that my self in the bed woke up, and screamed at me. I then, woke up. The worst part was, I could actually hear my alarm going off, but I couldn't wake up. It was like sleep paralysis, but I was already asleep. So, tell me your first lucid dream story! EDIT: People really love flying.. EDIT 2: 20+ Posts!

    • I had a lucid dream (or it seemed like it was) when I couldn't open my eyes. I then started to try to get a ski mask off my face. But what was strange, was I knew exactly where I was in my bed and when i woke up, I woke up in the exact same position.

I was in Walgreen's with my dad. We are at the toy isle. He hands me a HotWheels car, a Volkswagon Sirroco, (gg spelling amirite?) or I pick one out, I can't remember, and it is at this point that I become self aware. I tell him that I am in a dream, and that the car that I just picked out will not be here when I wake up. I then wake up, without that car. :(

          • I've always been scared to try lucid dreaming because of the horrible stories about sleep paralysis I've heard.

What an adventure lucid dreaming is. The first time I was probably 21 or 22. It started snowing in my dream and I remembered it was summer and it just clicked. I realized it was a dream and obviously the first thing I did was fly around. Over the next few years it happened fairly often. It got more bizarre with frequency, like crazy things happening all around me that would make me forget I knew I was dreaming. I've seen a dozen tornadoes destroy a city, I've seen a giant tsunami rise up , I've seen the moon crash into the earth. Numerous apocalyptic scenarios. They all seem to happen during lucid dreams. It's been a few years since I've had a genuine lucid dream, but I still have crazy dreams all the time. I think it's one of the most interesting facets of life.

              • I'd rather not talk about it. All I can say was I dreamed about being with a wife/girlfriend, the perfect girl. It seemed so real that when I woke up, I cried as it was only a dream and had to work all day that day.

                • Several. The first one I got out of bed with the feeling that the power had failed. Then noticed that nothing electrical worked and I heard zero sounds. That's when I realized it was a dream. I remember thinking about a different place and the room disintegrated and reformed in another room. ThenI woke up. In all my lucid dream the common thread is no electric power and no sound.

                • I don't know why I remember this from so long ago... I was in a purple void, there was an unknown light source. I was standing on (what I guess) a platform that was also purple. Then all of a sudden 3 gum ball machines and a circus ring master appeared beside me. He commanded me to eat all of the gum balls, I do as I told. He then tells me to eat the machines, again I obey. I start to inflate at an incredible fast rate. Seconds later, I wake up, completely fine. This dream still fascinates me to this day.

                        • All of the drwams that I can remember are licid, actually, I lucid dream almost three times a week. However, it isn't always the best. These dreams, as I will describe, are always lucid, and it's reoccurring... Lucid Nightmare: I begin in a dark hallway, consider it your average dark and spooky hallway, the lights flicker, the floor creeks, and the paint is peeling off the walls. I have full control of my body, however, unlike other lucid dreams, I'm unable to summon anything or have control of the drram outside of my own self. Behind me, a door opens, its hinges making an audible creek as it opens. I know I'm likely going to have to make a run for my life, so I preemptively make a run for the end of the hallway. I never look back as I race to the other end of the hall. Then, something appears in front of the door I'm running to. It's a ghost, its eyes are gouged out and its nails are like claws. I close my eyes and keep running. Somehow, some way, I move through the ghost without it noticing me and I escape the first room.

                          • *Enter dream* An alien mothership has landed off the coast of the beach me and my friends were driving to. I distinctly remember going over some hill and seeing it just there. Shit happens. You know chaos n shit. I got two snapchats, and for some reason I thought it was weird then immediately wondered why I thought it was so weird to get said snapchats. This triggered my first lucid dream. Not the aliens. Not the mothership. Not the complete and utter doomsday that was happening. But two -blam!-ing snapchats. *wakes up shortly afterwards*

                              • I wouldn't call it a lucid dream in the traditional sense, it's more of a dream where I can control my actions but am limited to the environment the dream has created. So, I don't know the number of times I've posted this dream, but I'll do it again I guess...... Full version
starts off with me entering this city. The city is kind of like dying lights setting, a quarantined wasteland. I had been tasked with going into the city and learning if there were any survivors, if the city could still be rebuilt, etc. So anyway I very quickly found out the quarantine zone is still populated the main survivor settlement is run by a criminal organization that makes the citizens pay them for protection but otherwise leaves their citizens alone. So I'm walking around this city and after reaching the market I find this girl argueing with a merchant, telling him that the food he was selling was overpriced, after a bit the merchant gets mad and pulls out a gun, before he could shoot I had drawn my gun and shot the merchant's shoulder, he collapsed and the girl turned around to see where the bullet came from. The citizens and guards look at me briefly and act as if it's a normal occurrence. This girl has walked up to me and thanked me for saving her life, and told me the merchant was selling spoiled food at a high price, she also very quickly noticed that I wasn't from the settlement and asked if I had a place to spend the night. I told her that I did not and I would bet that the merchant would have friends who wouldn't take kindly to me shooting him. So the girl tells me she has an apartment father into the quarantine zone and that i was welcome to stay if I helped her scavenge during the day. i agreed and she told me to meet her by the gate in an hour, as she walked away one of the guards walked up to me and told me the settlements leader wanted to speak with me, so I follow the guard to an elevated building, inside was the settlements leader, the conversation we had was short, he asked me about what happened in the market and how long I was staying for, I told him that I wasn't staying long, just passing through for supplies. He told me that i could stay as long as I didn't shoot more people then dismissed me. Flash forward a bit and I'm walking through the city ruins with the girl from earlier, she was talking about how she loved her city and would do anything to see it restored to its former glory. Skip forward a bit more and we've just reached her apartment, the building is abandoned and the only way to the top floor is a rope ladder, we make our way up to the top floor and enter her apartment. At this point the Suns setting and screeches and inhuman noises can be heard in the distance, she tells me she feels bad for anyone caught out after dark as that's when the mutants come out of hiding, Im looking out the window over the city and wonder what kind of mutants are out there. (That's where the dream ended)
TL DR
i was in a post apocalyptic city. Saved this girl from a crazed merchant then took up residence in her fortified apartment in the downtown area of the ruins
• It was very long so I won't explain it all, but know that I did some cool ass shit. Like used telekinesis upon my enemies and got to hang out with my crush at the time for the first time because she despised everything about my being in real life, which was a cool time. In the dream, I mean (had the dream over 6 years ago).

                                    • I don't think i've ever had a complete "lucid dream". I have had dreams where i've had conscious control of my "dream" self, but not the environment around me. Which, I actually enjoy that more. Usually it would end up turning into a dream where i'm fighting something, or trying to escape something. The fighting ones are the most amusing to me. I recall one night, when I went to sleep, I dreamed that I was in an abandoned house with all sorts of bizarre geometry. I was with two people, and we were being hunted by some ghost that looked like a mix between the girls from The Ring and The Grudge. Naturally, she killed the two I was with, and then me. And I woke up. Then I was like, "Oh fuck that." and went back to sleep to deal with her. I had the exact same dream, but survived a little longer, but was killed and woke up again. Same case, repeated the process, lasted a little longer. By the third (or fourth?) and final time, the ghost gave up on killing me and left me alone. I was so stubborn, the homicidal ghost in my dream literally quit fighting and just left. I still find that funny. lol
