Within the Sacred Grove, the Jade Dragons stirred.
While the human gardeners were away at their fields, they could see that the marines were uneased, unrested. Something was about. And to the warriors that passed in the area, they could tell what was happening. A battle was to come. And it seemed to put the brave warriors on edge. Something was amiss... perhaps they were in need of help again. Perhaps another great battle was abound. Or something otherwise...
that part was for those on the bloodwrath looking for something to do. Go investigate. Open to all.
Meanwhile, back in his realm, the Prince of Discord watched anxiously through his bay window at the rolling hills beneath his castle. Something was disturbing the usually calm man. A dark priest of the mechanicus entered the room. His shadowy, murky tentacles rolled him along the floor, is robes hiding the rest of his body. It was as if he floated above the ground. Upon his entrance, Noiratrom turned his head to face him, his muzzle casting a shadow upon the smaller man.
"Pontiff. You bear news?"
Yes, my Lord. Good news. The machines are nearly all ready. Our allies have proved most resourceful...
The shady being spoke in a twisted mechanical voice. It was as if he hadn't recieved the cleansing blessings of Noiratrom. Or perhaps, had he refused them by choice?
... They will be ready for war. And thanks to our advanced facilities, more will be prepared, at a brisker pace.
Noiratrom turned his face back towards the glass, looking out to his kingdom.
"Good. Have them ready to march immediately. I fear he may strike at any moment... and the longer this conflict would go, the stronger he would only get. We must make this swift and effective. Otherwise... this may have all been for nothing."
for Vaax, basically. I mean... I don't know who else would be part of his royal caste.
And so, the Pontiff took his leave, to return to the dark depths of his mechanicus lair. While Noiratrom stood before the window, he seemed to enter deep thought, as if searching within himself for something. Searching the depths of the soul pit that was his inner mind. Weaving through the sea of power, he found a single presence. A power he once wrought, but a soul he was unable to claim. But this soul... he would need it. Not for himself, no. But as an ally. And so, using this power, he beckoned the spirit to him. He flashed his mind through the depths of the warp to find this being.
Within the formless soul pools of Tzeentch, a single soul was disturbed.
That of the wizard Feryun. His body was naught, all that remained was his consciousness.
"Awaken, wizard. Your time has returned."
this last part, it's for Shulk.
"Recent events have gotten me troubled. Things just... seem to be moving so fast. Its as if I have no time to rest anymore." He sighs. "But, as they say, no rest for the wicked..."
-
"I wish you could take a break... I really do, but the other Chaos Gods would just use that to attack..." Astrid sighs and continues to hug him.
-
"Yes. It is a train that, sadly, once engaged cannot be stopped. But, that is alright. Once it is all over... we can finally have peace. The other gods, typical of them, have refused to band together to assault me. I expected as much. While Tzeentch does nothing and Nurgle keeps to himself, Khorne has decided to launch an all out assault on me. I have no choice but to oppose him. However... the ensuing conflict will most likely fuel him further. If not finished quickly, this conflict could potentially last an eternity."
-
"Yeah, he strives off conflict, even if it's against him. Wearing him down isn't a option..... Would... Hmmm...... What about some sort of trickery? There's a reason he can't beat Tzeentch, well besides Tzeentch seeing any possible attacks, he can't handle any sort of subterfuge."
-
"That is indeed what I had planned. We will have to make use of ruse to get to him."
-
"Alright, would you need help with any of it?"
-
"Perhaps... but not quite yet." He looks down at her. "You should pay Ysac a visit. The Pontiff has been hard at work lately."
-
"Alright, I love you...." Astrid hugs him before walking out of the room.
-
"I love you too." He returns to looking out of the window.
-
Astrid then goes looking for Ysac, wondering what he was working on.
-
The search for the Mechanicus pontiff takes her to the lower depths of the castle, where the hold for the machines stood.
-
Astrid peeks her head in. "Hello?"
-
Her voice echoes through the massive bays. The lights were extremely faint, yet she could see massive shapes lying in wait within the bay. Perhaps turning on the lights would help?
-
Astrid walks in and flips the light switch.
-
The lights slowly came on one by one, revealing slowly the scene. Her first reaction would be awe. Before her stood rows of gargantuan Imperator-Class titans. These massive warmachines were as big and as powerful as they came. Although, these machines were theirs. They were covered in vegetation and dragon markings, with almost entire forests on their backs. They were armed with weapons of unfathomable power, armour worthy of fables.
-
"Holy...... Wow....." Her eyes widen as she looks at them.
-
There was about five of them, and each had a specific loadout, prepared for any situation imaginable.
-
Astrid walks over to one and runs her hand across it. "Amazing...."
-
Her hand was tiny in comparison to the gigantic beings. It's foot was already much, much larger than her.
-
She walks around it, looking at the large amount of vegetation on its back.
-
From where she was, to even see the vegetation, she would need to be on top of it. Otherwise, it was out if her visual range. Simply looking up at the titan gave her vertigo.
-
"Wow..." She walks deeper into the area, looking for the Pontiff.
-
Ysac was on top of one of the machines, working on it.
-
"Ysac? You up there?"
-
The shady being disappears from uo high in a plume of smoke, only to reappear in front of Astrid.
You summon me, Your Highness?
He spoke with his raspy, mechanical voice.
