WHY I left Destiny (and how to make destiny better)

I recently moved to ps4 and got black ops 3 for it. I LOVE it. Why? -I don't have to grind that much to get weapons, and don't have to rely on rng for them (except loot pack weapons)------>THIS IS A COMPLETELY PERSONAL REASON WHY I LEFT, DESTINY IS A RANDOMLY-AQUIRED-LOOT-BASED GAME, SO IT IS MEANT TO BE THIS WAY - I'm not forced to play PvE to up my light for PvP (such as trials) because there aren't play-time restricted modes, and prestige doesn't really give you any advantage -Guns ACTUALLY do things (Bungie is SOOO crazy about nerfs that guns take millions of years to kill, and the guns feel like toy guns. Blops 3 guns feel POWERFUL. Also, the guns are pretty well-balanced in blops 3, while guns keep changing in Destiny (I'm looking at you, Last Word). -Supers aren't that crazy in PvP because BAM...sniper headshot in your super or before you can get close to use it (such as Fist of Havoc). Blops 3 specialists are REALLY good if you can use them well (such as Sparrow), and they are well-balanced. While I REALLY enjoyed Destiny while I played it (and yes, I played a LOT), I never knew what I was missing until Black Ops 3. You have powerful, balanced guns and specialists, and you don't have to grind hours to have fun. Note to Bungie: Make the grind less real, listen to the community, and try to not nerf EVERYTHING.

  • When I play COD right after destiny pvp, it's amazing how unbalanced you realize destiny is. Makes you think why destiny even has pvp.

      • The only thing bops3 has over Destiny- It's a faster paced game. TTK is quicker in bops. Autos pretty much the dominant weapon type. Lag free (most of the time) More squeaky kids.

      • I am the polar opposite. Played cod from the beginning, all the way up to the present, over 10 years. Played every single one(excluding cod 3, it never came to PC) and while some of your agruements make sense, others don't have much ground when it comes to destiny. First off, gun balance. Everything is more or less balanced in cod because pretty much every gun kills in 3 bullets to the foot, 90% of the game is just spray and pray, not to mention endless grenade spam on EVERY game type. Basically what happens in every cod game is players take the highest rof gun with the best range/stability and go from there. (Mp7/acr-mw3) which I would argue, is far from "balanced" Also supers/ults, shouldn't be a thing in cod, ever, was a bad addition and should stay out of the cod franchise, that is completly irrelevant and a total opinion, just wanted to put that out there. Also...you do kinda have to grind for weapons in bops3, and it's arguably harder than in destiny. Destiny puts guns into seperate activities that you KNOW you can get them from. Want a fatebringer? Vog Grasp? Omnigul Eyesluna? Pvp While cod forces you to play for loot chests which is complete rng, and basically the only way to get one hit melee weapons
side note, the removal of one hit melee in bops3 is idiotic, should never have been a thing, and now that they put melee weapons in chests it looks more like a straight cash grab than actual balance to gameplay.
Play time restricted modes in destiny pvp is what keeps the game fresh for a lot of people...bops 3 has the same, never changing modes, forever, there's a lot of them, sure, but they never change, and after playing for a very long time, basically only the party games keep any part of the game interesting. Supers can also be shut down in destiny with a snipe to the head...so not sure why bops3 supers count as more balanced... Overall cod in general gets repeatably boring because it's almost totally pure pvp, (zombies get old even faster). Where as destiny has a plethora of things to do...although currently were in a dry spell content wise...I'm still never tempted to turn on my copy of cod over destiny.

        • Without grind this game loses one of its core elements. And in case you didnt realise they dropped the amount of influence rng has alot since ttk. You are asking for the wrong things, actually listen to what most people ask here: -pvp as balanced as possible -dedicated servers -custom games(pvp) -a good story -fast and good content -a balace between pvp and pve relevance -variety in guns and armor

        • Because call of duty is better? Really? That's what you lead with? We finally get a breed of 3ps that ties in online co-op PvE and PVP, raid activities, tons of hidden quests and gear, weekly things to keep you busy... a CHANGE from the spray and pray same ole shooters of yesteryear, and your argument is that the bland shoot'em ups that have recycled content for a decade are better? Because you don't like grinding? If those are your reasons, fine. If strict shootem up pvp is your bag, hop in it. But why tell us about it? You just became another "I'm leaving destiny here's my sob story" post. The formula is simple. Do you have fun playing Destiny? If yes, great. Keep playing. If no, play something else.

            • I love it how tilted some people are. The last patch gave almost more buffs and added things than nerfs. It must be great to be so negative about everything.
also, you just don't like games like Destiny. Accept it and don't expect Destiny to turn in to CoD
• Both games have garbage pvp imo. Loved BO1 & 2, ghosts was garbage, skipped AW, and played the multi-player on BO3 twice before I traded it in and said never again to COD.

                • Oh nooooo, I don't think you understand. Anything. Also yeah, you do have to grind A LOT more to get the gun you want, or pay as much as the game is worth for a chance

                  • Your first point, that you don't have to grind in BO3 to get guns, is just dumb. It's an entirely different kind of game. Destiny is a loot based shooter, so of course you're gonna have to grind and get luck with RNG. That's a core mechanic of Destiny, as opposed in BO3. You have fair points with the nerfs and all your other stuff, but this one is just dumb if you ask me.

                    • I really real feel to establish better balance more buffing and less nerfing should happen. Make other class items more useful to increase variation in gameplay, same with weapon types, why nerf instead of buffing a lesser used weapon type. Bungie always says they want to keep the gameplay interesting so no one class or weapon type becomes so much better than all the others that everyone forgets any certain kind, THIS is whats needed not a long list of nerfs, everything from the DoP, which if theyd just buffed the damage and/or impact of other autos this wouldve made the doctrine less sought after and guns like the paleo, dealbreaker, righteous 7 and several others really good next to it. That wouldve helped. All Im saying is nerfing, sbmm, all these recent implementations have not really been for the better, get back to more along the lines of vanilla destiny with a few of my suggestions the fans will start running to this game more than in the past Bungie. Couple that with a LONG list of pve activities, nothing you could complete in three months, and this game franchise will blow destiny vanilla so far out of the water it will be forgotten.

How do weapons feel OP in Blops 3? Doesn't every gun kill you in like 2 seconds And if you know how to use a super, you won't get BAMMED in the head
