Do you Dead Orbiters even know your own lore?
So do any of you Dead Orbit supporters actually even know the lore behind your faction or all of you just like "OMG BLACK SHADAHZ, I CAN BE SO EMO AND EDGY!"

Truth be told all 3 of the factions are more then a little messed up. The fact that arach jalal ghost is from another guardian that he found dead on a destroyed ship... the fact that the 4th faction that was destroyed i. The wars that noone mentions...

I feel like people hate on dead orbit a lot simply because they don't get too look as good as us. Emo edgy? It's black a lot of things look good in black... tuxedos, luxury cars, penguins... seriously

If you're going by lore, New Monarchy is corrupt. Future War Cult is the only faction good for the City, because all they want is to learn what they need to do to save the City.

11 RepliesWhen it comes to lore I'm with NM because I'd like to think one day I can be queen of the guardians and my space ship would become the traveler. But DO's shaders are just so sexy. And FWC's exotic spawn in is by far the best.

1 ReplyAll factions are based on real-life people do when calamity hits their hometowns. Some people stay and fight for what they believe in and from the opposing view, sometimes are referred to as being radicals or extremists. Maybe even terrorists. And vice versa when it comes to the other side. Some people would stay and put up with it, and rebuild when everything is over. In this case, a brave notion, but some would call these people being stubborn. And some people leave their home because it's too dangerous and become refugees, finding safe haven for their loved ones. Fact is, there are plenty of refugees in the world. Even now, people from Syria have fled their home to avoid the worst for their families. The lore behind this is set relatively close to reality. This is what happens during war. Would you look down on anyone for choosing any of the above forementioned choices? I wouldn't. Every has their own situations and it's their choice to make. And yes, this is a video game, but the options are the same. It may be more of a choice for what color you want to wear, but the lore is still based on the history of real life war situations. My point is, all options are viable, both in shaders and lore.

Not so much to be "emo" (which is not even remotely related to wearing a certain color of clothes, by the way), but because almost every other shader in the game is pure garbage on Hunters. The NM shaders are decent, but use a shade of red that I don't care for. The FWC shaders make you look like you went to a gay pride parade and got covered in dirt. Also, the NM gear is a retexture of the [i]hideous[/i] HoW vanguard hunter gear. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing it.

Not I. But it's nothing to do with Dead Orbit; I don't know much of any of the Destiny lore. I bought a video game to play and be told an interactive story. When I want to read, I crack open a book.

Spreading throughout the cosmos to increase the chance of our races surviving, when Earth and the surrounding planets are under constant threat of being consumed by the darkness. Better than the dictatorship that New Monarchy is striving to create. Space exploration or living under a leader that calls all the shots that can't be replaced, what would you rather have? Plus DO has a fleet, the only one we hear about.
