Do you Dead Orbiters even know your own lore?
So do any of you Dead Orbit supporters actually even know the lore behind your faction or all of you just like "OMG BLACK SHADAHZ, I CAN BE SO EMO AND EDGY!"

I have three characters. One of each class. One of each race. One of each faction. I don't not personally align myself with the thinking of any of the factions because I think each of them are flawed equally in their own way.

Screw lore, I like how they look. Or rather, how they looked in Year 1. I like FWC's gear set much more now.

We seek a new beginning outside of this solar system by means of a rebuilt fleet, consisting of our remaining newer ships and those from the golden age that we can restore. We have run many what you could call, "black ops". With quite a few ending badly or just going dark. We could mean that we are the ones who are called upon when a mission requires utter secrecy, or a small tactical team. Just my thoughts. DO and NM have never seen eye to eye because they are polar opposite of each other. Some of my porcelain throne thoughts 😉

Year one I slowly got into it mainly because I liked the name, shaders and ships. As I delved into the lore and eventually the other factions lore aswell I decided to stick with FWC.

Don't know, don't care. I run a different faction on each character. Just got all my exotic class items so I'm switching them all up again. As long as I can buy whatever I want from each faction on any character I"m happy. Factions are useless beyond purchasing items in this game.

In short, I believe Dead Orbit has the right idea....but is going about it the wrong way. Humanity's future does lie beyond this Solar System, but running arway is not an answer to the threat the Darkness poses. It is naïve on their part to assume that it won't be waiting out there for us....or track us down to where we flee to. Sometimes you simply have to stand and fight. I believe New Monarchy has the right means....but the wrong ends. Humanity's future requires us to stand and fight the Darkness here. To protect civilization HERE...and then seek to spread it beyond the wall of the City. But to seek to subsume Democracy and democrat values in the protective embrace of some imagined Philosopher-King/Queen is profoundly wrong-headed and naïve. Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. No individual is so virtuous. No family is so virtuous that they can be trusted to with absolut power, and not be corrupted by it. Future War Cult is just OUT there. I think they are doing something that is important, but that they're keeping what that is so secret that they just wind up sounding crazy and fatalistic to everyone around them. But I think what FWC is doing lies at the root of why the interests and ambitions of so many other races (especially a time-travelling race like The Vex) meet HERE.
