I thought so too. Until I did a raid and a couple of strikes and found it to be not worth trying to dodge enemy bullets just to land consecutive grenades in order for the Viking Funeral ability to activate. For the 2.5sec debuf to be of any use, you literally have to land all your grenades that Radiance will allow you to throw back to back. Because you need to stack it to get good worthwhile results. Not enough pay off for the risk..

Standing or being "trapped inside" the grenade was supposed to stack the burning effect of solar grenades. Even before the VF change, solar grenades would have a "3X Burning" flavor text indication. Now it feels like I can't even proc that "5% extra damage", much less 10 or 15%. Im going to chalk this up to the Burning glitches from the throwing knife nerf for the moment.

Yeah, that is exactly my build. Really the only Sunlock build I've been using since Year 1. So my statements/comments above specifically come from play testing Solar Grenades with Sunbreakers and Full Discipline.

Right there with you man. I loved the old DoT with firebolt but so many casuals [spoiler]hunters[/spoiler] whine about these things that Bungie bends over backwards to please them. My proposal would be for the burn to do less damage, but the duration would increase, making it a longer window of opportunity to proc the viking funeral effect, and also would keep enemies shields from regenerating for a longer period of time. So instead of 7 ticks, maybe 4 but add a few more? Just something I've been mulling over.
