I've done all that but I'm boned if it needs to all be completed on your first character like the golden chests etc... in year one.

What do you mean "first character"? At least one of your characters has to have everything listed completed if that's what you mean.

In year one the golden chests required for the moments of triumph only counted if they were collected on your first created character.

no they didn't my hunter was first character and doesn't have all chests my warlock is second and I did it on him.

For myself and several others it was definitely the case. Seems not to be a universal issue if you weren't affected. Anomalous, to be sure.

kinda like the half of the population who didn't get preorder bonus til months later destiny problems seem to vary from account to account

Pretty sure that's inaccurate but then again I've never deleted a character since day 1 this game was released. Never understood why ppl do this. You lose all of your progress. Makes no sense to me.

I had 20/20 golden chests on all but my first character, who was missing 2 and it said that I hadn't completed the MoT. This was the same for several of my friends too. As for character deletion, I agree. However I ran 3 warlocks for VoG in vanilla, deleted a character when HoW vault space was increased to roll a Titan. Then when the TTK vault increase happened I was able to stow my items on my 3rd and rolled a Hunter.

I had the same issue, I had to go back and collect them with my hunter (first character)
