I ran support for infinite ammo and c4 for pesky vehicles. My gun of choice was usually the m240 bravo. Lmgs cover all ranges. Hip fire for up close, and if you bipod it you can snipe snipers with short bursts. I have a lot of fun running support, plus I help the team with ammo.
