When I was young, I was treated like shit by alot of people. Went to a private school, but I didn't come from money so everyone sort of looked down on me. Faculty included. The students were particularly brutal with the name calling and whatnot. Last pick always for whatever the game was in gym. Basically had my own lunch table. Ok, a lunch table to myself was actually pretty sweet. Regardless though... Y'know what that did? It turned me into an angry, caged animal. It instilled a sort of disregard for other human life. Haters, naysayers and non believers? I will gladly set you on fire and watch you burn all the while wearing an ear-to-ear shit eating grin. It's really no good... Sure, I come out on top sometimes. But the way I get there... predatory. Am I proud of it? Yes and no. Proud of where I'm at? Hell yeah. Proud of how I got here? Not really. Regrets? Some... but not enough to change the behavior if someone gets in my way, or begins to imply I'm a lesser form of life. Ultimately, I guess I'm just lucky all the mistreatment resulted in hatred and rage instead of depression and fear. Sith>Jedi.

  • Damn, I was bullied some as a kid, but then I got fit and started keeping my geeky obsessions low key. I also learned that I'm not in control of much and life is much better if you go with the flow.

Put a choke hold on what you can control. Learn to live with things you can't.
But if its both outside your control, and against what you beleive, or what you stand for, one should carve their own path.
Edit Also, being kind of nerdy is... a part of what, or who I am. Why would I suppress that?

  • Having some hate and being able to move foward. Is better than being depressed and stuck in life.
Still learn to forgive as God also forgave us.
• Y'know... that private school I mentioned? Sacred Heart. Perochial School, mutha-blam!-a! Forgiveness? "Equality"? Get bent. Treat others how they've treated you. Now... I'm not gonna outright knock the faith. I just don't subscribe to it. If you do, cool. Faith is a very individual thing.

  • So pretty much a bunch of rich "Christian" people that it would be fun to pick on you and act like dicks? Sounds pretty messed up to me. Forgiving and letting something to is better than holding a bitter grudge though.

  •
"Christian"
Accurate af. Messed up? Indeed! People say "forgive and forget." I'm not really the forgiving type... but I am willing to forget. That is; unless the behavior or what-have-you is consistent, or repeated. People seeking forgiveness? I say "well act like it." The words "I'm sorry" are overused, and I feel, don't ultimately mean anything. You messed up? Don't apologize. Just don't do it again...

  • Seems legit. I'm just telling you that you should let go of what they did to you. You don't have to be their bff, heck you don't even have to like them. Just saying it's wrong to hate others.

  • Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, the chains are broken.

  • I mean your not wrong. (Nice reference by the way.) But I know that God comforts me through my family dying. I'm not angry or spiteful then, I have peace. I also believe as humans, we are to make leave with others whether they deserve it or not.

  • Stepping back to look at it, I can see where you're coming from... kindasorta. But it would appear that we have arrived at a fundemental clash of ideals. Agree to disagree?
